Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was once on a journey, and some of his companions observed fasting while others did not. Those who did not fast showed more energy and attentiveness and carried out the tasks of service. Whereas those who were fasting became weak and unable to do much. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Those who did not fast today have earned the reward."

سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک سفر میں تھے تو کچھ صحابہ نے روزہ رکھ لیا اور کچھ نے روزہ نہ رکھا۔ پس روزہ نہ رکھنے والوں نے ہمّت و احتیاط سے کام لیا اور خدمت کے کام انجام دیئے۔ جبکہ روزے دار کچھ کام کرنے سے کمزور و بے بس ہوگئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس بارے میں فرمایا: ”آج روزہ نہ رکھنے والے اجر وثواب لے گئے ہیں۔“

Sayyidna Anas bin Malik Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain keh Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam aik safar mein thay to kuch sahaba ne roza rakh liya aur kuch ne roza na rakha. Pas roza na rakhne walon ne himmat o ehtiyat se kaam liya aur khidmat ke kaam anjam diye. Jabkeh rozedar kuch kaam karne se kamzor o bebas hogaye to Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne is baare mein farmaya: "Aaj roza na rakhne wale ajr o sawab le gaye hain."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي السَّفَرِ , فَصَامَ بَعْضٌ، وَأَفْطَرَ بَعْضٌ , فَتَحَزَّمَ الْمُفْطِرُونَ وَعَمِلُوا , وَضَعُفَ الصُّوَّامُ عَنْ بَعْضِ الْعَمَلِ , فَقَالَ فِي ذَلِكَ:" ذَهَبَ الْمُفْطِرُونَ الْيَوْمَ بِالأَجْرِ"

Narrated Anas bin Malik: We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and some of us were fasting, while others were not. We halted at a place on a hot, sunny day and the heat was very intense. Some of us sought shade from the sun with our hands, while the one with the most shade was the one who had a sheet (of cloth) and the fasting people were taking shade under it. Those who were not fasting got up and pitched the tents and gave water to the mounts. On that, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The reward of those who are not fasting has surpassed (the reward of those who are fasting) today."

سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھے، ہم میں سے کچھ افراد روزے دار تھے اور کچھ نے روزہ نہیں رکھا تھا۔ تو ہم ایک سخت گرمی والے دن شدید گرمی میں ایک منزل پر اُترے۔ ہم میں سے کچھ لوگ اپنے ہاتھ سے سورج کی دھوپ سے بچ رہے تھے اور ہم میں سے زیادہ سائے والا وہ شخص تھا جس کے پاس چادر تھی اور روزے دار اس کے سائے میں جگہ لے رہے تھے۔ جن افراد نے روزہ نہیں رکھا تھا وہ اُٹھے اور اُنہوں نے خیمے نصب کیے اور سواریوں کو پانی پلایا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”روزہ نہ رکھنے والے آج اجر وثواب لے گئے ہیں۔“

Sayyidna Anas Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain ki hum Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke sath ek safar mein thay, hum mein se kuchh afrad rozedar thay aur kuchh ne roza nahi rakha tha. To hum ek sakht garmi wale din shadid garmi mein ek manzil par utre. Hum mein se kuchh log apne hath se sooraj ki dhoop se bach rahe thay aur hum mein se ziyada saya wala woh shaks tha jiske pass chadar thi aur rozedar uske saye mein jagah le rahe thay. Jin afrad ne roza nahi rakha tha woh uthe aur unhon ne khaime nasb kiye aur sawariyon ko pani pilaya to Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: "Roza na rakhne wale aaj ajr o sawab le gaye."

حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ , فَمِنَّا الصَّائِمُ، وَمِنَّا الْمُفْطِرُ , فَنَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلا فِي يَوْمٍ حَارٍّ شَدِيدِ الْحَرِّ , فَمِنَّا مَنْ يَتَّقِي الشَّمْسَ بِيَدِهِ , وَأَكْثَرُنَا ظِلا صَاحِبُ الْكِسَاءِ يَسْتَظِلُّ بِهَا الصَّائِمُونَ , وَقَامَ الْمُفْطِرُونَ , فَضَرَبُوا الأَبْنِيَةَ , وَسَقُوا الرِّكَابَ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" ذَهَبَ الْمُفْطِرُونَ الْيَوْمَ بِالأَجْرِ"
