It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made it obligatory upon every Muslim, in the month of Ramadan, to pay one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Sadaqatul Fitr. (This is) to be paid by every free person, slave, male, and female.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رمضان المبارک میں تمام مسلمان لوگوں پر ایک صاع کھجور یا ایک صاع جَو صدقہ فطر فرض کیا ہے۔ (جَو) ہر آزاد، غلام، مرد اور عورت ادا کریںگے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Umar Radi Allahu Anhuma se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne Ramzan ul Mubarak mein tamam musalman logon par ek sa'a khajoor ya ek sa'a jau sadaqah fitr farz kya hai. (Jau) har azad, ghulam, mard aur aurat ada karenge.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ،" أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ فِي رَمَضَانَ عَلَى النَّاسِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ عَلَى كُلِّ حُرٍّ وَعَبْدٍ، ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ" .
