Chapter on the Recommendation of Trimming Nails Along with Shaving the Head
بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ تَقْلِيمِ الْأَظْفَارِ مَعَ حَلْقِ الرَّأْسِ،

Sayyidina Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he, along with one of his Ansar companions, went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at the place of sacrifice. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had his hair shaved and wrapped in a cloth. He gave those hairs to them and they distributed them among some of the noble companions. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) clipped his nails and gave them to Sayyidina Abdullah's (may Allah be pleased with him) companion. Sayyidina Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we have preserved the blessed hair of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which were dyed with henna or Katam (a type of plant).

سیدنا عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ وہ اپنے ایک انصاری ساتھی کے ہمراہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں قربان گاہ میں حاضر ہوئے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے سر کے بال ایک کپڑے میں منڈوائے۔ آپ نے وہ بال انھیں دیئے تو انھوں نے کچھ صحابہ کرام میں تقسیم کر دیئے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے ناخن ترشوائے تو وہ بھی سیدنا عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھی کو دے دیئے سیدنا عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ کے بال مبارک مہندی یا کتم بوٹی سے رنگے ہوئے ہمارے پاس محفوظ ہیں۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Zaid Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain ke woh apne aik Ansaari sathi ke hamrah Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki khidmat mein qurban gah mein hazir hue, Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne apne sar ke baal aik kapre mein mundwaye. Aap ne woh baal unhen diye to unhon ne kuch Sahaba Kiram mein taqseem kar diye. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne apne nakhun tarshaye to woh bhi Sayyidna Abdullah Radi Allahu Anhu ke sathi ko de diye Sayyidna Abdullah Radi Allahu Anhu farmate hain ke Aap ke baal Mubarak mehndi ya katam buti se range hue hamare pass mahfooz hain.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبَانَ الْعَطَّارِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ . وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ الْمَنْحَرِ هُوَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَحَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأْسَهُ فِي ثَوْبِهِ فَأَعْطَاهُ، فَقَسَمَ مِنْهُ عَلَى رِجَالٍ، وَقَلَّمَ أَظْفَارَهُ، فَأَعْطَاهُ صَاحِبَهُ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّهُ عِنْدَنَا مَخْضُوبٌ بِالْحِنَّاءِ، وَالْكَتَمِ، أَوْ بِالْكَتَمِ وَالْحِنَّاءِ" .
