Chapter on the recommendation of setting out for Hajj on Thursday, seeking blessings by following the Prophet, peace be upon him, as he rarely set out on a journey except on Thursday.

Chapter on the recommendation of preparing provisions for the journey, following the Prophet, peace be upon him, and differing from some of the Sufis of our time.

Chapter on the recommendation of appointing one of the travelers as a leader over them, and the explanation that the most deserving of that is the one who has memorized the most Quran.

Chapter on the prohibition of using animals as chairs by stopping them while riding without moving or dismounting.
بَابُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ اتِّخَاذِ الدَّوَابِّ كَرَاسِيَّ بِوَقْفِهَا وَالْمَرْءُ رَاكِبَهَا، غَيْرُ سَائِرٍ عَلَيْهَا، وَلَا نَازِلٍ عَنْهَا

Chapter on the recommendation of kindness to the ridden animals by feeding and watering them, and the dislike of starving and thirsting them, or riding and walking them while hungry or thirsty.

Chapter on the permissibility of loading ridden animals during travel to fulfill needs if the name of Allah is mentioned when riding them, by narrating a brief, non-detailed report.

Chapter on the evidence that the Prophet, peace be upon him, only permitted loading ridden animals.
بَابُ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَبَاحَ الْحَمْلَ عَلَى الدَّوَابِّ الْمَرْكُوبَةِ،

Chapter on the evidence that the angels do not accompany a group in which there is a bell; for the bell is the flute of Satan.
بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَا تَصْحَبُ رِفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ؛ إِذِ الْجَرَسُ مِزْمَارُ الشَّيْطَانِ

Chapter on the recommendation of traveling at night; for Allah, the Almighty, folds the earth at night, making travel at night shorter.
