Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 391
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If people knew what (reward) is in the call to prayer (Adhan) and (praying in) the first row (of the prayer), and they could not find any other way except to draw lots (to attain this excellence), they would definitely draw lots." This Hadith is narrated by Yahya bin Hakim. Utbah bin Abdullah Al-Hamdi said that I narrated this Hadith to Imam Malik from (the narration of) Sammi.

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اگر لوگوں کو علم ہو جائے کہ اذان کہنے اور پہلی صف میں (نماز ادا کرنے میں) کیا اجر و ثواب ہے تو وہ پھر قرعہ اندازی کئے بغیر کوئی چارہ نہ پایئں، تو وہ قرعہ اندازی کریں گے۔ یہ یحییٰ بن حکیم کی حدیث ہے۔ عتبہ بن عبداللہ یحمدی کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سمی سے یہ حدیث امام مالک پر قرات کی۔
Sayyidina Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: ”Agar logon ko ilm ho jaye ki azan kehne aur pehli saf mein (namaz ada karne mein) kya ajr o sawab hai to woh phir qur'a andazi kiye baghair koi chara na payen, to woh qur'a andazi karenge. Yah Yahya bin Hakeem ki hadees hai. Utbah bin Abd Allah Yahmedi kehte hain ki maine Sumay se yah hadees Imam Malik par qirat ki.
نا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَنَّ مَالِكًا ، أَخْبَرَهُ. ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، نا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، نا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي الأَذَانِ وَالصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلا أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ، لاسْتَهَمُوا عَلَيْهِ" . هَذَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ. نا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَحْمَدِيُّ ، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
