Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumayy, the mawla of Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman from Abu Salih from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If a man who is walking along a road finds a branch of thorns on the road and removes it, Allah thanks him for doing it and forgives him."He also said, "Martyrs are five:the one killed by a plague, the one killed by a disease of the belly, the one who drowns, the one killed by a collapsing building, and the martyr in the path of Allah.'He also said, "If people knew what there was in the call to prayer and the first row, and they could find no other way except to draw lots for it, they would draw lots for it. And if they knew what there was in doing dhuhr at its time, they would race each other to it. And if they knew what there was in the prayers of isha and maghrib, they would come to them even if they had to crawl .

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ایک دفعہ کا واقعہ ہے کہ ایک شخص کسی راستے میں چلا جا رہا تھا کہ اچانک اس نے راستے پر ایک کانٹے دار ٹہنی کو پایا تو اُس نے اُسے دور ہٹا دیا ، اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کے لیے ( اس عمل کی ) قدر دانی فرمائی اور اسے بخش دیا ۔‘‘ اور آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ شہداء پانچ قسم کے ہیں : طاعون کی بیماری سے مرنے والا ، پیٹ کی بیماری سے مرنے والا ، ڈوبنے والا ، گرنے والی چیز کے نیچے دب کر مرنے والا اور اللہ کی راہ میں جام شہادت نوش کرنے والا ۔‘‘ اور فرمایا :’’ اگر لوگ اُس ( اجر و ثواب ) کو جان لیں جو اذان کہنے اور صف ِ اول میں ہے ، پھر وہ اس کے علاوہ اور کوئی چارہ نہ پائیں کہ اس کام پر قرعہ اندازی کریں تو وہ ضرور قرعہ بھی ڈال لیں ، اگر وہ اس ( ثواب و درجہ ) کو جان لیں جو نماز کی طرف جلدی جانے میں ہے تو وہ ضرور اس کی طرف ایک دوسرے سے سبقت کریں ، اور اگر وہ اس ( مرتبہ و شان اور اجر ) کو جان لیں جو نمازِ عشاء اور نمازِ فجر میں ہے تو وہ ضرور ان دونوں کو آئیں ، اگرچہ انھیں گھِسٹ کر آنا پڑے ۔‘‘
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: '' Aik dafa ka waqia hai ki aik shakhs kisi raste mein chala ja raha tha ki achanak usne raste par aik kaante daar tehni ko paya to usne usay door hata diya, Allah Ta'ala ne uske liye (iss amal ki) qadar daani farmaai aur usay bakhsh diya. '' Aur Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: '' Shahid paanch qisam ke hain: ta'un ki bimari se marne wala, pet ki bimari se marne wala, doobne wala, girne wali cheez ke neeche dab kar marne wala aur Allah ki rah mein jaam-e-shahadat nosh karne wala. '' Aur farmaya: '' Agar log us (ajr-o-sawaab) ko jaan lein jo azaan kehne aur saff-e-awwal mein hai, phir woh iske ilawa aur koi chara na paayein ki iss kaam par qur'a andazi karein to woh zaroor qur'a bhi daal lein, agar woh us (sawaab-o-darja) ko jaan lein jo namaz ki taraf jaldi jaane mein hai to woh zaroor iski taraf aik doosre se sabqat karein, aur agar woh us (martaba-o-shaan aur ajr) ko jaan lein jo namaz-e-isha aur namaz-e-fajr mein hai to woh zaroor in dono ko aayein, agarche unhein ghisat kar aana parre. ''.
