Muwatta Imam Malik 1007
Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that one time the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was speaking to Umar ibn al-Khattab while he was travelling with a troop and Umar swore by his father and he (the Messenger) said, "Allah forbids you to swear by your fathers. If anyone swears, let him swear by Allah or keep silent."

حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ بے شک رسول اللہ ﷺ نے حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ کو اس حال میں پایا کہ وہ ( حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ ) ایک شتر سوار قافلے میں چل رہے تھے اور اپنے باپ کی قسم کھا رہے تھے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ یقیناً اللہ تمھیں اس سے منع فرماتا ہے کہ تم اپنے باپوں کی قسمیں کھاؤ ، لہٰذا جو کوئی قسم کھانا چاہتا ہو تو اسے چاہیے کہ اللہ کی قسم کھائے یا خاموش رہے ۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar Radi Allaho Anho se riwayat hai ki be shak Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne Hazrat Umar bin Khattab Radi Allaho Anho ko iss haal mein paya ki woh (Hazrat Umar Radi Allaho Anho) aik shutar sawar qafila mein chal rahe thay aur apne baap ki qasam kha rahe thay to Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: Yaqinan Allah tumhein iss se mana farmata hai ki tum apne baapo ki qasmain khao, lihaza jo koi qasam khana chahta ho to use chahiye ki Allah ki qasam khaye ya khamoosh rahe.
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَدْرَكَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ﵁ وَهُوَ يَسِيرُ فِي رَكْبٍ ، وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ : « إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ ، فَمَنْ كَانَ حَالِفًا ، فَلْيَحْلِفْ بِاللَّهِ أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ »
