Abu Talha reported the Prophet as saying, “The angels do not enter a house which contains a dog or pictures.”

ابو طلحہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جس گھر میں کتے اور تصاویر ہوں اس میں (رحمت کے) فرشتے داخل نہیں ہوتے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Abu Talha RA bayan karte hain, Nabi SAW ne farmaya: ''Jis ghar mein kutte aur tasaveer hon us mein (rehmat ke) farishte dakhil nahin hote.'' Muttafiq alaih.
Ibn ‘Abbas told on Maimuna’s authority that one morning God’s messenger was silent with grief, and said, “Gabriel promised to meet me last night, but he did not do so. I swear by God that he has never broken his promise before.” He then thought of a puppy which he had seen under a (Fustat Mirqat, iv, 484 considers that here it means a couch) tent of his, and when he had given orders and had it put out he took some water in his hand and sprinkled the place where it had been. In the evening Gabriel met him and he said, “You promised to meet me yesterday,” to which he replied, “Yes, but we do not enter a house which contains a dog or a picture.” So next morning God’s messenger ordered that dogs should be killed, even to the extent of ordering that dogs which guarded small gardens should be killed, but leaving out of account those which guarded large gardens.
Muslim transmitted it.

ابن عباس ؓ ، میمونہ ؓ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ ایک روز رسول اللہ ﷺ غمگین ہو گئے اور فرمایا :’’ جبریل ؑ نے رات کے وقت مجھ سے ملاقات کرنے کا وعدہ کیا تھا لیکن وہ نہیں آئے ، آگاہ رہو کہ اللہ کی قسم ! اس نے مجھ سے کبھی وعدہ خلافی نہیں کی ۔‘‘ پھر آپ کے دل میں خیال آیا کہ آپ کی چارپائی کے نیچے کتے کا چھوٹا سا بچہ ہے ۔ آپ نے اس کے متعلق حکم فرمایا : اسے نکال دیا جائے ، چنانچہ اسے نکال دیا گیا ، پھر آپ نے ہاتھ میں پانی لے کر اس جگہ چھڑک دیا ، پھر جب شام ہوئی تو جبریل ؑ آپ سے ملے تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ تم نے کل مجھ سے ملاقات کرنے کا وعدہ کیا تھا ؟‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : ٹھیک ہے ، لیکن ہم اس گھر میں داخل نہیں ہوتے جس میں کتا اور تصویر ہو ، اگلے روز صبح ہوئی تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے کتے مارنے کا حکم فرما دیا حتی کہ چھوٹے باغوں کے کتے بھی مار دیے جائیں البتہ بڑے باغوں کے کتے چھوڑ دینے (یعنی نہ مارنے) کا حکم فرمایا ۔ رواہ مسلم ۔
Ibn Abbas RA, Maimoona RA se riwayat karte hain ki ek roz Rasul Allah SAW ghamgeen ho gaye aur farmaya: "Jibra'il AS ne raat ke waqt mujhse mulaqat karne ka wada kiya tha lekin woh nahi aaye, aagah raho ki Allah ki qasam! Usne mujhse kabhi wada khilafi nahi ki." Phir aapke dil mein khayal aaya ki aapki charpai ke neeche kutte ka chhota sa bachcha hai. Aapne uske mutalliq hukm farmaya: Use nikal diya jaye, chunancha use nikal diya gaya, phir aapne hath mein pani lekar us jagah chhirak diya, phir jab sham hui to Jibra'il AS aapse mile to aap SAW ne farmaya: "Tum ne kal mujhse mulaqat karne ka wada kiya tha?" Unhon ne arz kiya: Theek hai, lekin hum us ghar mein dakhil nahi hote jis mein kutta aur tasveer ho, agle roz subah hui to Rasul Allah SAW ne kutte maarne ka hukm farma diya hatta ki chhote baaghon ke kutte bhi maar diye jayen albatta bade baaghon ke kutte chhod dene (yani na maarne) ka hukm farmaya. She told that she bought a cushion on which were pictures, and when God’s messenger saw it he stopped at the door and did not enter. Seeing the signs of disapproval in his face she said, “Messenger of God, I repent towards God and His messenger. What have I done wrong ?” He asked, “What is the meaning of this cushion ?” and when she replied that she had bought it for him to sit and recline on he said, “The people who make these pictures will be punished on the day of resurrection and be told to bring to life what they have created,” adding, “The angels do not enter a house which contains a picture.”

عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے ایک چھوٹا سا تکیہ خریدا جس پر تصویریں تھیں ، جب رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اسے دیکھا تو آپ دروازے پر کھڑے ہو گئے اور اندر تشریف نہ لائے ، میں نے آپ کے چہرے پر ناپسندیدگی کے آثار دیکھے ، وہ بیان کرتی ہیں ، میں نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! میں (اپنی غلطی سے) اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی طرف رجوع کرتی ہوں ، میں نے غلطی کیا کی ہے ؟ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ یہ تکیہ کیسا ہے ؟‘‘ میں نے عرض کیا ، میں نے اسے آپ کے لیے خریدا ہے تا کہ آپ اس پر تشریف فرما ہوں اور اس پر ٹیک لگائیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ان تصویروں والوں کو روزِ قیامت عذاب دیا جائے گا ، انہیں کہا جائے گا ، تم نے جو تخلیق کیا اسے زندہ کرو ۔‘‘ اور فرمایا :’’ بے شک وہ گھر جس میں تصویر ہو وہاں فرشتے داخل نہیں ہوتے ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ayesha RA se riwayat hai ki unhon ne ek chhota sa takiya khareeda jis par tasvirein thin, jab Rasool Allah SAW ne use dekha to aap darwaze par khare ho gaye aur andar tashreef na laye, main ne aap ke chehre par napasandeedgi ke aasaar dekhe, wo bayan karti hain, main ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasool! main (apni ghalti se) Allah aur us ke Rasool ki taraf rujoo karti hon, main ne ghalti kiya ki hai? Rasool Allah SAW ne farmaya: ''Yeh takiya kaisa hai?'' main ne arz kiya, main ne use aap ke liye khareeda hai ta ki aap is par tashreef farma hon aur is par tek lagayein, Rasool Allah SAW ne farmaya: ''In tasviron walon ko roz-e-qiyamat azab diya jayega, unhen kaha jayega, tum ne jo takhleeq kiya use zinda karo.'' aur farmaya: ''Be shak wo ghar jis mein tasveer ho wahan farishte dakhil nahin hote.'' Muttafiq Alaih.
She told that she had screened a store-room of hers with a curtain on which there were figures and the Prophet tore it down ; so she made two cushions out of it and had them in the house for sitting on.”

عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے گھر کے دریچے پر پردہ لٹکا رکھا تھا جس پر تصویریں تھیں ، نبی ﷺ نے اسے پھاڑ ڈالا ، اور میں نے اس سے دو تکیے بنا لیے جو کہ گھر میں تھے ، آپ ﷺ ان پر بیٹھا کرتے تھے ۔ متفق علیہ ۔

She said :The Prophet went out on an expedition and I got a carpet which I hung as a screen at the door, but when he came and saw the carpet he pulled it and tore it down, saying, “God has not commanded us to clothe stones and clay.”

عائشہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کسی غزوہ پر تشریف لے گئے تو میں نے ایک کپڑا لیا اور اسے دروازے پر لٹکا دیا ، جب آپ واپس تشریف لائے تو آپ ﷺ نے وہ کپڑا دیکھا تو اسے کھینچ کر پھاڑ دیا ، پھر فرمایا :’’ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں یہ حکم نہیں دیا کہ ہم پتھر اور مٹی کو کپڑا پہنائیں ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ayesha RA se riwayat hai ke Nabi SAW kisi ghazwa par tashreef le gaye to maine ek kapra liya aur usay darwaze par latka diya, jab aap wapas tashreef laaye to aap SAW ne woh kapra dekha to usay khench kar phaar diya, phir farmaya: ''Allah Ta'ala ne humain yeh hukum nahi diya ke hum pathar aur mitti ko kapra pehnayen.'' Mutaffiq Alaih.
She reported the Prophet as saying, “Those who will receive the severest punishment on the day of resurrection will be they who imitate what God has created.”

عائشہ ؓ ، نبی ﷺ سے روایت کرتی ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ روزِ قیامت ان لوگوں کو سب سے زیادہ سخت عذاب دیا جائے گا جو اللہ کی تخلیق میں اللہ سے مشابہت کرتے ہیں ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ayesha RA, Nabi SAW se riwayat karti hain, Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Roz-e-Qayamat in logon ko sab se zyada sakht azab diya jayega jo Allah ki takhleeq mein Allah se mushabih karte hain.'' Muttafiq alaih.
Abu Huraira told of hearing God’s messenger state that God most high says, “Who is more in the wrong than he who sets about creating things like what I have created ? Well, let such people create an atom, let them create a grain, or a grain of barley.”

ابوہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا :’’ اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے : اس سے بڑھ کر کون ظالم ہو سکتا ہے جو میری طرح کی تخلیق کرنے لگتا ہے ، انہیں چاہیے کہ وہ ایک ذرہ یا ایک دانہ یا ایک جو تو پیدا کریں ! ‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Abu Hurairah bayan karte hain, main ne Rasool Allah ko farmate huye suna : '' Allah Ta'ala farmata hai : Is se barh kar kaun zalim ho sakta hai jo meri tarah ki takhleeq karne lagta hai, unhen chahiye ki woh aik zarah ya aik danah ya aik jau to paida karen! '' Mutaffiq alaih .
'Abdallah b. Mas'ud told that he heard God’s messenger say, “Those who will receive the severest punishment from God will be the people who make representations of things.” (Al-musawwiruna. There is a difference of opinion as to whether this refers to those who make snch representations as idols to be worshipped, or whether the reference is to representations of living creatures in general.)

عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا :’’ اللہ کے ہاں مصوروں کو سب سے زیادہ سخت عذاب دیا جائے گا ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Abdullah bin Masood bayan karte hain, maine Rasool Allah ko farmate huye suna: ''Allah ke haan musawiron ko sab se zyada sakht azab diya jaye ga.'' Mutaffiq alaih.
Ibn ‘Abbas told that he heard God’s messenger say, “Everyone who makes representations of things will go to hell, and for every representation he has made there will be produced a soul which will punish him in jahannam.” Ibn ‘Abbas said :If you must do it, make pictures of trees and of things which do not possess a soul.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا :’’ ہر مصور آگ میں (جانے والا) ہے ، اس نے جو بھی تصویر بنائی ہو گی اسے صورت عطا کی جائے گی اور وہ اس (مصور) کو جہنم میں عذاب دے گی ۔‘‘ ابن عباس ؓ نے فرمایا : اگر تم نے ضرور ہی تصویر بنانی ہے تو پھر درخت اور ایسی چیز کی بنا جس میں روح نہ ہو ۔ متفق علیہ ۔
Ibne Abbas bayan karte hain, maine Rasool Allah farmate huye suna: ''Har musawwir aag mein (jaane wala) hai, usne jo bhi tasveer banayi hogi use surat ata ki jayegi aur wo us (musawwir) ko jahannum mein azab degi.'' Ibne Abbas ne farmaya: Agar tumne zaroor hi tasveer banani hai to phir darakht aur aisi cheez ki bana jismein rooh na ho. Muttafiq alaih.
He told that he heard God’s messenger say, “If anyone pretends to have had a dream which he did not see he will be given the task of joining two barley-seeds, but will be unable to do so ; if anyone listens to other people’s talk when they do not want him to hear, or try to avoid him, lead will be poured into his ears on the day of resurrection; and he who makes a representation of anything will be punished and given the task of breathing into it, but will be unable to do so.”
Bukhari transmitted it.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا :’’ جو شخص کسی ایسے خواب دیکھنے کا دعوی کرے جو اس نے دیکھا نہیں تو اسے مکلّف بنایا جائے گا کہ وہ دو جو کے درمیان گرہ لگائے اور وہ ہرگز ایسا نہیں کر سکے گا ، جو شخص کان لگا کر لوگوں کی باتیں سنتا ہے جبکہ وہ اسے ناپسند کرتے ہوں یا وہ اس سے دور بھاگتے ہوں تو روزِ قیامت اس کے کانوں میں سیسہ ڈالا جائے گا اور جس نے کوئی تصویر بنائی اسے عذاب دیا جائے گا اور اسے مکلّف بنایا جائے گا کہ وہ اس میں روح پھونکے اور وہ ایسا نہیں کر سکے گا ۔‘‘ رواہ البخاری ۔
Ibn Abbas bayan karte hain, maine Rasul Allah farmate huye suna: ''Jo shakhs kisi aise khwab dekhne ka daawa kare jo usne dekha nahin to use mukallaf banaya jayega keh woh do jau ke darmiyan girah lagaye aur woh hargiz aisa nahin kar sakega, jo shakhs kaan laga kar logon ki baaten sunta hai jabke woh use napasand karte hon ya woh us se door bhaagte hon to roz-e-qiyamat uske kaanon mein sisa dala jayega aur jisne koi tasveer banayi use azab diya jayega aur use mukallaf banaya jayega keh woh us mein rooh phoonkay aur woh aisa nahin kar sakega.'' Riwayat al-Bukhari.
Buraida reported the Prophet as saying, "He who plays backgammon is as though he had dipped his hand in a pig’s flesh and blood.”
Muslim transmitted it.

بریدہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جو شخص نرد کھیلتا ہے تو وہ ایسے ہے جیسے اس نے خنزیر کے گوشت اور اس کے خون سے اپنا ہاتھ رنگین کیا ہو ۔‘‘ رواہ مسلم ۔
Baridah RA se riwayat hai ke Nabi SAW ne farmaya: ''Jo shakhs nard khelta hai to wo aise hai jaise usne suar ke gosht aur uske khoon se apna haath rangin kiya ho.'' Riwayat Muslim.
Abu Huraira said God's messenger told that Gabriel came to him and said, "I came to you last night and was prevented from entering simply by the fact that there were images at the door, for there was a figured curtain with images on it and there was a dog in the house. So order that the head of the image which is at the door of the house be cut off so that it may become like the form of a tree; order that the curtain be cut up and made into two cushions spread out on which people may tread; and order that the dog be put out.” God’s messenger then did so.
Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

ابوہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جبریل ؑ میرے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے کہا : میں گزشتہ رات آپ کے پاس آیا تھا لیکن آپ کے دروازے پر مورتیاں تھیں جن کی وجہ سے میں اندر نہیں آیا ، اور گھر میں ایک پردہ تھا جس پر مورتیاں تھیں اور گھر میں ایک کتا بھی تھا ، گھر کے دروازے پر جو مورتیاں ہیں ان کے سر قطع کرنے کا حکم فرمائیں تو وہ درخت کی طرح ہو جائے گی ، اور پردے کے متعلق حکم فرمائیں کہ اسے کاٹ کر دو تکیے بنا لیں جو پھینکے اور روندے جائیں جبکہ کتے کے متعلق حکم فرمائیں کہ اسے باہر نکال دیا جائے ۔‘‘ پس رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایسا ہی کیا ۔ اسنادہ صحیح ، رواہ الترمذی و ابوداؤد ۔
Abu Huraira bayan karte hain, Rasul Allah ne farmaya: ''Jibra'il mere paas aaye to unhon ne kaha: mein guzishta raat aap ke paas aaya tha lekin aap ke darwaze par murtian thin jin ki wajah se mein andar nahin aaya, aur ghar mein ek parda tha jis par murtian thin aur ghar mein ek kutta bhi tha, ghar ke darwaze par jo murtian hain un ke sar qata karne ka hukum farmaen to wo darakht ki tarah ho jaaye gi, aur parde ke mutalliq hukum farmaen ki usay kaat kar do takiye bana len jo phenke aur ronde jaayen jabkeh kutte ke mutalliq hukum farmaen ki usay bahar nikal diya jaaye.'' Pas Rasul Allah ne aisa hi kiya. Isnaadahu sahih, riwayat al-Tirmidhi wa Abu Dawood.
He reported God’s messenger as saying, "On the day of resurrection there will issue from hell a portion having two eyes which see, two ears which hear and a tongue which speaks, and it will say it has been put in charge of three classes :everyone who is proud and obstreperous, everyone who invokes another god along with God, and those who make representations of things.”
Tirmidhi transmitted it.

ابوہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ روز قیامت جہنم کی آگ سے ایک گردن نکلے گی جس کی دو آنکھیں دیکھنے والی ہوں گی ، دو کان سننے والے ہوں گے اور ایک زبان بولتی ہو گی ، وہ کہے گی : مجھے تین قسم کے لوگوں ، ہر ظالم و متکبر شخص ، اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور کو معبود بنانے والے اور تصویر بنانے والوں ، پر مامور کیا گیا ہے (کہ میں انہیں آگ میں داخل کروں) ۔‘‘ سندہ ضعیف ، رواہ الترمذی ۔
Abu Huraira bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ne farmaya: ''Roz Qayamat Jahannam ki aag se ek gardan niklegi jis ki do aankhein dekhne wali hongi, do kaan sunne wale honge aur ek zuban bolti hogi, woh kahegi: Mujhe teen qisam ke logon, har zalim o mutakabbir shakhs, Allah ke sath kisi aur ko mabood banane walon aur tasveer banane walon, par mamur kiya gaya hai (keh main unhen aag mein dakhil karoon).'' Sanad zaeef, riwayat Tirmizi.
Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying, "God most high has made wine,maisirand thekubaunlawfuland he said, "Every intoxicant is unlawful.” Thekubais said to be the drum.
Baihaqi transmitted it inShu’ab al-iman.

ابن عباس ؓ ، رسول اللہ ﷺ سے روایت کرتے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ نے شراب ، جوئے اور طبلے کو حرام قرار دیا ہے ۔‘‘ اور فرمایا :’’ ہر نشہ آور چیز حرام ہے ۔‘‘ صحیح ، رواہ البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Ibn Abbas RA, Rasool Allah SAW se riwayat karte hain, aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Beshak Allah Ta'ala ne sharaab, jue aur tablay ko haram qarar diya hai.'' Aur farmaya: ''Har nasha aawar cheez haram hai.'' Sahih, riwayat al-Bayhaqi fi Shu'ab al-Iman.
Ibn ‘Umar said the Prophet prohibited wine,maisir, thekuba,/i>, andghubaira’which is an intoxicating drink made by Abyssinians from millet. It is calledsukruka.
Abu Dawud transmitted it.

ابن عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے شراب ، جوئے ، طبل اور ’’غبیراء‘‘ سے منع فرمایا ہے ، اور ’’غبیراء‘‘ شراب ہے جسے حبشی مکئی سے بنایا کرتے تھے ، اور اسے سکرکہ بھی کہا جاتا ہے ۔ حسن ، رواہ ابوداؤد ۔
Ibn Umar RA se riwayat hai keh Nabi SAW ne sharaab, juey, tabl aur "ghabeera" se mana farmaya hai, aur "ghabeera" sharaab hai jise Habshi makkai se banaya karte thay, aur ise sirka bhi kaha jata hai. Hasan, Rawah Abu Dawood.
Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari reported God’s messenger as saying, "He who plays backgammon has disobeyed God and His messenger."
Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

ابوموسیٰ اشعری ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جس شخص نے نردشیر کھیلی اس نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی نافرمانی کی ۔‘‘ سندہ ضعیف ، رواہ احمد و ابوداؤد ۔
Abu Musa Ashari RA se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah SAW ne farmaya: Jis shakhs ne nardsheer kheli us ne Allah aur uske Rasul ki nafarmani ki. Sanad zaeef, riwayat Ahmad o Abu Dawood.
Abu Huraira told that God’s messenger saw a man following a pigeon and said, "A devil is following a she-devil."
Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah and Baihaqi, inShu’ab al-iman, transmitted it.

ابوہریرہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایک آدمی کو ایک کبوتری کا پیچھا کرتے ہوئے دیکھا تو فرمایا :’’ شیطان ، شیطانہ کا پیچھا کر رہا ہے ۔‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ احمد و ابوداؤد و ابن ماجہ و البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Abu Hurairah RA se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah SAW ne aik aadmi ko aik kabutar ka picha karte huye dekha to farmaya: "Shaitan, shaitana ka picha kar raha hai." Isnaadahu hasan, rawahu Ahmad wa Abu Dawood wa Ibn Majah wal Baihaqi fi Shu'ab al-Iman.
Sa'id b. Abul Hasan said :When was with Ibn ‘Abbas a man came to him and said, "Ibn ‘Abbas, I am a man whose livelihood comes only from the work of my hands, and I make these representations of things." Ibn ‘Abbas replied that he would tell him only what he had heard from God’s messenger. He had heard him say, ‘‘If anyone makes a representation of anything God will punish him till he blows a spirit into it, and he will never be able to do that." Then when the man gasped and became pale he said to him, “Out upon you ! If you must do so, make representations of these trees and of anything which does not possess a spirit.”

سعید بن ابی الحسن بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں ابن عباس ؓ کے پاس تھا جب ایک آدمی ان کے پاس آیا ، اس نے کہا : ابن عباس ! میں ایک ایسا آدمی ہوں کہ میری معیشت کا انحصار دست کاری پر ہے ، اور میں یہ تصاویر بناتا ہوں ، ابن عباس ؓ نے فرمایا : میں تمہیں رسول اللہ ﷺ سے سنی ہوئی حدیث ہی سنا دیتا ہوں ، میں نے آپ ﷺ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا :’’ جس شخص نے کوئی تصویر بنائی تو اللہ اسے عذاب دیتا رہے گا حتی کہ وہ اس میں روح پھونکے جبکہ وہ کبھی بھی اس میں روح نہیں پھونک سکے گا ۔‘‘ اس آدمی نے بڑا سانس لیا اور اس کا چہرہ زرد پڑ گیا اس پر عبداللہ بن عباس ؓ نے فرمایا : افسوس تجھ پر ، اگر تم نے ضرور یہی کام کرنا ہے تو پھر درخت اور ایسی چیزوں کی تصاویر بنا لیا کر جس میں روح نہ ہو ۔‘‘ رواہ البخاری ۔
Saeed bin Abi Al Hassan bayan karte hain, main Ibn Abbas (RA) ke paas tha jab ek aadmi unke paas aaya, usne kaha: Ibn Abbas! main ek aisa aadmi hun ke meri maiyat ka inhisaar dastkari par hai, aur main yeh tasaveer banata hun, Ibn Abbas (RA) ne farmaya: main tumhen Rasool Allah (SAW) se suni hui hadees hi suna deta hun, maine aap (SAW) ko farmate huye suna: ''Jis shakhs ne koi tasveer banayi to Allah use azab deta rahega hatta ke woh usme ruh phoonk de jabke woh kabhi bhi usme ruh nahi phoonk sakega.'' Iss aadmi ne bada saans liya aur uska chehra zard par gaya iss par Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) ne farmaya: Afsoos tujh par, agar tumne zaroor yahi kaam karna hai to phir darakht aur aisi cheezon ki tasaveer bana liya kar jismein ruh na ho.'' ‘A’isha told that when the Prophet was ill some of his wives mentioned a church called Mariya. Umm Salama and Umm Habiba who had gone to Abyssinia mentioned its beauty and the statues it contained, whereupon he raised his head and said, "When a pious man among those people dies they build a place of worship over his grave, then make those statues in it. Those are the worst of God’s creatures.”

عائشہ ؓ بیان کرتی ہیں ، جب نبی ﷺ بیمار ہوئے تو آپ کی ایک بیوی نے کنیسہ کا ذکر کیا جسے ماریہ کہا جاتا ہے ، ام سلمہ اور ام حبیبہ ؓ سرزمینِ حبشہ گئی تھیں ، انہوں نے اس کے حسن اور اس میں رکھی ہوئی تصاویر کا ذکر کیا ۔ آپ ﷺ نے اپنا سر اٹھایا اور فرمایا :’’ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں کہ جب ان میں صالح آدمی فوت ہو جاتا تو وہ اس کی قبر پر مسجد بنا لیتے ، پھر اس (مسجد) میں یہ تصویریں بنا دیتے ، یہ اللہ کی بدترین مخلوق ہیں ۔‘‘ متفق علیہ ۔
Ayesha bayan karti hain, jab Nabi bemar huye to aap ki aik biwi ne kaneesa ka zikr kiya jise Mariya kaha jata hai, Umm Salma aur Umm Habiba sarzameen-e-Habsha gayi thin, unhon ne us ke husn aur us mein rakkhi hui tasveeron ka zikr kiya. Aap ne apna sar uthaya aur farmaya: ''Yeh woh log hain ke jab in mein salih aadmi faut ho jata to woh us ki qabar par masjid bana lete, phir us (masjid) mein yeh tasveeren bana dete, yeh Allah ki badtareen makhlooq hain.'' Muttafaq alaih.
Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying, ‘The one who receives the severest punishment on the day of resurrection will be he who kills a prophet, or who is killed by a prophet, or kills one of his parents, those who make representations of things, and a learned man who derives no benefit from his learning."
Baihaqi transmitted it inShu’ab al-iman.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ روز قیامت ایسے شخص کو سب سے سخت عذاب ہو گا جس نے کسی نبی کو قتل کیا یا کسی نبی نے اسے قتل کیا ، یا کسی نے اپنے والدین میں سے کسی ایک کو قتل کیا ، نیز مصور اور ایسا عالم جس نے اپنے علم سے (عمل کے ذریعے) فائدہ حاصل نہ کیا ۔‘‘ اسنادہ ضعیف جذا ، رواہ البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Ibn Abbas bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ne farmaya: ''Roz Qayamat aise shakhs ko sab se sakht azaab ho ga jis ne kisi nabi ko qatal kya ya kisi nabi ne use qatal kya, ya kisi ne apne waldain mein se kisi ek ko qatal kya, neez musawwir aur aisa alim jis ne apne ilm se (amal ke zariye) faida hasil na kya.'' Asnadah zaeef jada, Rawah al-Bayhaqi fi Shuab al-Iman.
It is narrated on the authority of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say: Chess is the gambling of the non-Arabs.
Weak, narrated by Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

علی ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ کہا کرتے تھے : شطرنج عجمیوں کا جوا ہے ۔ ضعیف ، رواہ البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Ali (RA) se riwayat hai ki woh kaha karte thay: Shatranj ajmiyon ka juwa hai. Zaeef, Rawah al-Bayhaqi fi Shu'ab al-Iman.
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Shihab that Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Only a sinful person plays chess." (This is) a weak narration, narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

ابن شہاب سے روایت ہے کہ ابوموسیٰ اشعری ؓ نے فرمایا : خطاکار شخص ہی شطرنج کھیلتا ہے ۔ ضعیف ، رواہ البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Ibn Shahab se riwayat hai ke Abumusa Ashari RA ne farmaya: Khatakar shakhs hi shatranj khelta hai. Zaeef, Riwayat al-Bayhaqi fi Shuab al-Iman.
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that when he was asked about playing chess, he said: "It is from among the vain games, and Allah Almighty does not like vanity." These four hadiths are narrated by Imam Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman. Weak, narrated by Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.

ابن شہاب سے روایت ہے کہ ان سے شطرنج کھیلنے کے متعلق دریافت کیا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا : وہ باطل کھیلوں میں سے ہے جبکہ اللہ تعالیٰ باطل کو پسند نہیں کرتا ۔ یہ چاروں احادیث امام بیہقی نے شعب الایمان میں روایت کی ہیں ۔ ضعیف ، رواہ البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Ibn Shahab se riwayat hai ki un se shatranj khelne ke mutaliq daryaft kya gaya to unhon ne kaha: woh baatil khelon mein se hai jabke Allah ta'ala baatil ko pasand nahin karta. Ye charon ahadees Imam Bayhaqi ne Shu'ab al-iman mein riwayat ki hain. Zaeef, Rawah al-Bayhaqi fi Shu'ab al-iman.
Abu Huraira told that God's messenger used to come to the house of some of the Ansar, but that near it was a house which he never visited. That distressed the people, so they said, “Messenger of God, you visit so and so’s house, but you never visit ours.” The Prophet replied, “It is because there is a dog in your house. ” They said, “There is a cat in their house,” and he replied, “A cat is a beast of prey.” (The explanation given is that a cat uses its fangs to kill its prey and is not unclean whereas the dog eats filth and is considered unclean.)
Daraqutni transmitted it.

ابوہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ انصار کے ایک گھر میں تشریف لایا کرتے تھے ، جبکہ ان کے قریب ایک گھر تھا (آپ ان کے ہاں نہیں جایا کرتے تھے) ان پر یہ شاق گزرا تو انہوں نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! آپ فلاں کے گھر تشریف لاتے ہیں اور ہمارے گھر تشریف نہیں لاتے ، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ کیونکہ تمہارے گھر میں کتا ہے ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : اور ان کے گھر میں بلا ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ بلا درندہ ہے ۔‘‘ اسنادہ ضعیف ، رواہ الدار قطنی ۔
Abu Hurairah bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah Ansar ke aik ghar mein tashreef laya karte thay, jabke unke qareeb aik ghar tha (aap unke haan nahin jaya karte thay) un par yeh shaq guzara to unhon ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasool! Aap falan ke ghar tashreef laate hain aur humare ghar tashreef nahin laate, Nabi ne farmaya: ''kyunke tumhare ghar mein kutta hai.'' Unhon ne arz kiya: ''aur unke ghar mein bila hai?'' Aap ne farmaya: ''Bila darinda hai.'' Isnadah zaeef, Riwayat al-Darqutni.
