‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Do not sail on the sea except when going to perform thehajj, or the‘umra, or when fighting in God’s path, for under the sea there is a fire and under the fire there is a sea.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

عبداللہ بن عمرو ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ حج کرنے یا عمرہ کرنے یا اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرنے کے علاوہ سمندر کا سفر نہ کرو ، کیونکہ سمندر کے نیچے آگ ہے اور آگ کے نیچے سمندر ہے ۔‘‘ اسنادہ ضعیف ، رواہ ابوداؤد ۔
Abdullah bin Amro bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ne farmaya: ''Haj karne ya Umrah karne ya Allah ki rah mein jihad karne ke ilawa samundar ka safar na karo, kyunki samundar ke neeche aag hai aur aag ke neeche samundar hai.'' Isnaad-e-zaeef, riwayat Abu Dawood.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَرْكَبِ الْبَحْرَ إِلَّا حَاجًّا أَوْ مُعْتَمِرًا أَوْ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ تَحْتَ الْبَحْرِ نَارًا وَتَحْتَ النَّارِ بَحْرًا» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ
