Anas said God’s messenger liked what was at the bottom of the pot.* *Mirqat, iv, 381 has quite a long discussion of the meaning ofthufl. It means 'dregs', or 'what sinks to the bottom'. The preference for the meaning in the translation above is said to "be either because what is in the bottom of the pot is cooked longer and so is better than the rest, or because the Prophet liked others to be served first. It is also suggested that herethuflmeanstharid. Tirmidhi and Baihaqi, inShu'ab al-iman, transmitted it.

انس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ کو برتن (ہنڈیا ، دیگچی) کے پیندے کے ساتھ لگا ہوا کھانا پسند تھا ۔ اسنادہ صحیح ، رواہ الترمذی و البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔
Anas bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah ko bartan (handiya, degchi) ke penyde ke sath laga hua khana pasand tha. Isnadah sahih, riwayat al-Tirmidhi wa al-Bayhaqi fi Shuab al-Iman.
