Sufyan Thori (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "Wearing thick, coarse clothes and eating dry food is not detachment from the world, rather, having few desires is detachment from the world." The chain of narration is weak. Mentioned in Sharh al-Sunnah.

سفیان ثوری ؒ نے فرمایا :’’ موٹا ، جھوٹا کپڑا پہننے اور روکھا سوکھا کھانے کا نام دنیا سے بے رغبتی نہیں ، بلکہ آرزوؤں کا کم ہونا دنیا سے بے رغبتی ہے ۔‘‘ اسنادہ ضعیف ، رواہ فی شرح السنہ ۔
Sufyan Sauri (RA) ne farmaya: ''Mota, jhoota kapda pehenne aur rokha sookha khane ka naam duniya se beragbati nahin, balkeh aarzoon ka kam hona duniya se beragbati hai.'' Isnadah zaeef, riwayat fi sharah al-sunnah.
وَعَنْ سُفْيَانَ\الثَّوْرِيِّ قَالَ: لَيْسَ الزُّهْدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا بِلُبْسِ الْغَلِيظِ وَالْخَشِنِ وَأَكْلِ الْجَشِبِ إِنَّمَا الزُّهْدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا قِصَرُ الْأَمَلِ. رَوَاهُ فِي «شرح السّنة»\
