Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: One day I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he said, "Young man, protect the commands of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Safeguard the rights of Allah, and you will find Him before you. If you ask, ask from Allah alone. If you seek help, seek help from Allah alone. And know that if the entire nation were to gather to benefit you, they could not benefit you with anything more than what Allah has already decreed for you. And if they were to gather to harm you, they could not harm you with anything more than what Allah has already decreed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried." This hadith's chain of narration is considered Hasan (good). It was narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi.

ابن عباس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، ایک روز میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پیچھے (سواری پر بیٹھا ہوا) تھا ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ لڑکے ! تو اللہ (کے احکام) کی حفاظت کر ، اللہ تیری حفاظت فرمائے گا ، تو اللہ (کے حقوق) کا خیال رکھ ، تو اسے اپنے سامنے پائے گا ، اور جب تو سوال کرے تو صرف اللہ سے کر ، جب تو مدد طلب کرے تو صرف اللہ سے مدد طلب کر ، اور جان لے کہ اگر پوری امت بھی جمع ہو کر تجھے کچھ فائدہ پہنچانا چاہے تو وہ تجھے اس سے زیادہ کچھ فائدہ نہیں پہنچا سکتی جو اللہ نے تیرے لیے لکھ دیا ہے ، اور اگر وہ تجھے نقصان پہنچانے کے لیے جمع ہو جائے تو وہ تجھے اس سے زیادہ کچھ نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتی جو اللہ نے تیرے لیے لکھ دیا ہے ، قلم اٹھا لیے گئے اور صحیفے خشک ہو گئے ۔‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ احمد و الترمذی ۔
Ibn Abbas bayan karte hain, aik roz main Rasool Allah ke peeche (sawari per baitha hua) tha, aap ne farmaya: "Ladke! Tu Allah (ke ahkam) ki hifazat kar, Allah teri hifazat farmaye ga, tu Allah (ke huqooq) ka khayal rakh, tu use apne samne paye ga, aur jab tu sawal kare to sirf Allah se kar, jab tu madad talab kare to sirf Allah se madad talab kar, aur jaan le ke agar puri ummat bhi jama ho kar tujhe kuchh faidah pahunchana chahe to wo tujhe is se ziada kuchh faidah nahin pahuncha sakti jo Allah ne tere liye likh diya hai, aur agar wo tujhe nuqsan pahunchane ke liye jama ho jaye to wo tujhe is se ziada kuchh nuqsan nahin pahuncha sakti jo Allah ne tere liye likh diya hai, qalam utha liye gaye aur sahife khushk ho gaye." Isnaadahu hasan, riwayat Ahmad wa Tirmidhi.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ: «يَا غُلَامُ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعَتْ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلَّا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشَيْءٍ\لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلَّا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ رُفِعَتِ الأقلام وجفَّت الصُّحُف» رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ\
