It was narrated from Mahmud bin Labid that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The thing I fear most for you is minor Shirk." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is minor Shirk?" He said: "Showing off." And Imam Bayhaqi added in Shu'ab al-Iman: "On the Day when Allah will reward the slaves for their deeds, He will say to them (those who showed off): 'Go to those whom you used to show off to in the world, and see if you can find any reward or goodness from them.'" (Hasan) Ahmad and Bayhaqi narrated it in Shu'ab al-Iman.

محمود بن لبید ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ مجھے تمہارے متعلق شرک اصغر کا سب سے زیادہ اندیشہ ہے ۔‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! شرک اصغر سے کیا مراد ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ ریا کاری ۔‘‘\nاور امام بیہقی نے شعب الایمان میں یہ اضافہ نقل کیا ہے :’’ جس روز اللہ بندوں کو ان کے اعمال کی جزا دے گا تو وہ ان (ریاکاروں) کو فرمائے گا : انہی کی طرف چلے جاؤ جن کو تم دنیا میں (اپنے اعمال) دکھایا کرتے تھے ، دیکھو کیا تم ان کے پاس جزا اور خیر و بھلائی پاتے ہو ؟‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ احمد و البیھقی فی شعب الایمان ۔\n
Mahmood bin Labeed RA se riwayat hai keh Nabi SAW ne farmaya: ''Mujhe tumhare mutalliq shirk asghar ka sab se zyada andesha hai.'' Unhon ne arz kya, Allah ke Rasool! Shirk asghar se kya murad hai? Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Riyakari.'' Aur Imam Bayhaqi ne Shob al iman mein yeh izafa naqal kya hai: ''Jis roz Allah bandon ko un ke aamal ki jaza dega to woh un (riyakaron) ko farmayega: Inhi ki taraf chale jao jin ko tum duniya mein (apne aamal) dikhaya karte the, dekho kya tum un ke paas jaza aur khair o bhalai pate ho?'' Isnadahu hasan, rawah Ahmad wa al Bayhaqi fi Shob al iman.
وَعَن مَحْمُود\بن لبيد أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمُ الشِّرْكُ الْأَصْغَرُ» قالول: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الشِّرْكُ الْأَصْغَرُ؟ قَالَ: «الرِّيَاءُ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ. وَزَادَ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي «شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ» : يَقُولُ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ يُجَازِي الْعِبَادَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ: اذْهَبُوا إِلَى الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تُرَاؤُونَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَانْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ عِنْدَهُمْ جَزَاءً وَخَيْرًا؟\
