Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) heard of the arrival of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He was picking fruit at the time. He immediately came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "I will ask you about three things that only a prophet can know. What is the first sign of the Hour? What will be the first food of the people of Paradise? When does a child resemble his father and when does he resemble his mother?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Gabriel has just now informed me about them." As for the first sign of the Hour, it will be a fire that will gather the people from East to West. As for the first meal of the people of Paradise, it will be a piece of fish liver. And when the man's water (semen) prevails over the woman's water, the child resembles the father, and when the woman's water prevails, the child resembles the mother. Hearing this, he said, "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, and that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah." Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah! The Jews are a people of slander. If they come to know of my conversion to Islam before you ask them about me, they will slander me." In the meantime, some Jews came and the Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What is the status of Abdullah amongst you?" They replied, "He is the best of us, the son of the best of us, our chief and the son of our chief." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "What do you think if Abdullah bin Salam were to embrace Islam?" They said, "May Allah protect him from that!" At that moment, Abdullah came out and announced, "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is the Messenger of Allah." Thereupon, they began to say, "He is the worst of us and the son of the worst of us." And they started to disparage and insult him. Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! This is what I was afraid of." [Sahih al-Bukhari]

انس ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، عبداللہ بن سلام ؓ نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی تشریف آوری کے متعلق سنا تو وہ اس وقت پھل توڑ رہے تھے ، وہ فوراً نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ، اور عرض کیا ، میں آپ سے تین سوال کرتا ہوں جنہیں صرف نبی ہی جانتا ہے ، (بتائیں) علامات قیامت میں سے سب سے پہلی نشانی کیا ہے ؟ اہل جنت کا سب سے پہلا کھانا کیا ہو گا ؟ بچہ کب اپنے والد کے مشابہ ہوتا ہے اور کب اپنی والدہ کے مشابہ ہوتا ہے ؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ جبریل نے ابھی ابھی ان کے متعلق مجھے بتایا ہے ، جہاں تک علامات قیامت کا تعلق ہے تو پہلی علامت ایک آگ ہو گی جو لوگوں کو مشرق سے مغرب کی طرف جمع کر دے گی ، رہا جنتیوں کا پہلا کھانا تو وہ مچھلی کے جگر کا ایک کنارہ ہو گا ، اور جب آدمی کا پانی عورت کے پانی (منی) پر غالب آ جاتا ہے تو بچہ والد کے مشابہ ہوتا ہے اور جب عورت کا پانی غالب آ جاتا ہے تو بچہ عورت کے مشابہ ہو جاتا ہے ۔‘‘ (یہ جواب سن کر) انہوں نے کہا : میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں ، اور بے شک آپ اللہ کے رسول ہیں ، (پھر فرمایا) اللہ کے رسول ! یہودی بڑے بہتان باز ہیں ، اگر انہیں ، اس سے پہلے کہ آپ ان سے میرے متعلق پوچھیں ، میرے اسلام قبول کرنے کا پتہ چل گیا تو وہ مجھ پر بہتان لگائیں گے ، چنانچہ اتنے میں یہودی آ گئے تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ عبداللہ کا تمہارے ہاں کیا مقام ہے ؟ انہوں نے بتایا کہ وہ ہم میں سب سے بہتر ، ہم میں سب سے بہتر کے بیٹے ، ہمارے سردار اور ہمارے سردار کے بیٹے ہیں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ مجھے بتاؤ اگر عبداللہ بن سلام اسلام قبول کر لیں (تو پھر) ؟ انہوں نے کہا ، اللہ انہیں اس سے پناہ میں رکھے ، عبداللہ اسی دوران باہر تشریف لے آئے اور انہوں نے کہا : میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں ، اور یہ کہ محمد (ﷺ) اللہ کے رسول ہیں ، پھر یہ (یہودی ان کے بارے میں) کہنے لگے : وہ ہم میں سب سے برا ہے اور ہم میں سے سب سے برے کا بیٹا ہے ، اور وہ ان کی تنقیص و توہین کرنے لگے ، عبداللہ بن سلام ؓ نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! یہی وہ چیز تھی جس کا مجھے اندیشہ تھا ۔ رواہ البخاری ۔
Anas bayan karte hain, Abdullah bin Salam ne Rasool Allah ki tashreef aawari ke mutalliq suna to woh us waqt phal torr rahe the, woh foran Nabi ki khidmat mein hazir hue, aur arz kiya, main aap se teen sawal karta hun jinhen sirf Nabi hi janta hai, (bataien) alamat qayamat mein se sab se pehli nishani kya hai? Ahl jannat ka sab se pehla khana kya ho ga? Bachcha kab apne walid ke mushabiha hota hai aur kab apni walida ke mushabiha hota hai? Aap ne farmaya: ''Jibra'eel ne abhi abhi in ke mutalliq mujhe bataya hai, jahan tak alamat qayamat ka ta'lluq hai to pehli alamat ek aag ho gi jo logon ko mashriq se maghrib ki taraf jama kar de gi, raha jannatiyon ka pehla khana to woh machhli ke jigar ka ek kinara ho ga, aur jab aadmi ka pani aurat ke pani (mani) par ghalib aa jata hai to bachcha walid ke mushabiha hota hai aur jab aurat ka pani ghalib aa jata hai to bachcha aurat ke mushabiha ho jata hai.'' (Yeh jawab sun kar) Unhon ne kaha: Main gawahi deta hun ke Allah ke siwa koi mabood barhaq nahin, aur be shak aap Allah ke Rasool hain, (phir farmaya) Allah ke Rasool! Yahudi bade buhtan baaz hain, agar inhen, is se pehle ke aap in se mere mutalliq poochhen, mere Islam qubool karne ka pata chal gaya to woh mujh par buhtan lagaien ge, chunancha itne mein yahudi aa gaye to aap ne farmaya: ''Abdullah ka tumhare han kya maqam hai? Unhon ne bataya ke woh hum mein sab se behtar, hum mein sab se behtar ke bete, humare sardar aur humare sardar ke bete hain, aap ne farmaya: ''Mujhe batao agar Abdullah bin Salam Islam qubool kar len (to phir)? Unhon ne kaha, Allah unhen is se panaah mein rakhe, Abdullah isi dauran bahar tashreef le aaye aur unhon ne kaha: Main gawahi deta hun ke Allah ke siwa koi mabood barhaq nahin, aur yeh ke Muhammad (ﷺ) Allah ke Rasool hain, phir yeh (yahudi in ke bare mein) kehne lage: Woh hum mein sab se bura hai aur hum mein se sab se bure ka beta hai, aur woh in ki tanqis o tauheen karne lage, Abdullah bin Salam ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasool! Yahi woh cheez thi jis ka mujhe andesha tha. Riwayat Bukhari.
وَعَن أنس قا ل سَمِعَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ بِمَقْدَمِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي أَرْضٍ يَخْتَرِفُ فَأَتَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ لَا يَعْلَمُهُنَّ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ: فَمَا أَوَّلُ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ وَمَا أَوَّلُ طَعَامِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ وَمَا يَنْزِعُ الولدُ إِلَى أبيهِ أَو إِلَى أمه؟ قا ل: «أَخْبرنِي بهنَّ جِبْرِيلُ آنِفًا أَمَّا أَوَّلُ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ فَنَارٌ تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ إِلَى الْمَغْرِبِ وَأَمَّا أَوَّلُ طَعَامٍ يَأْكُلُهُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فَزِيَادَةُ كَبِدِ الْحُوت وَإِذَا سَبَقَ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ مَاءَ الْمَرْأَةِ نَزْعَ الْوَلَدَ وَإِذَا سَبَقَ مَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ نَزَعَتْ» . قَالَ: أشهد أَن لاإله إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ قَوْمٌ بُهْتٌ وَإِنَّهُمْ إِنْ يعلمُوا بِإِسْلَامِي من قبل أَن تَسْأَلهُمْ يبهتوني فَجَاءَتِ الْيَهُودُ فَقَالَ: «أَيُّ رَجُلٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فِيكُمْ؟» قَالُوا: خَيْرُنَا وَابْنُ خَيْرِنَا وَسَيِّدُنَا وَابْنُ سيدِنا فَقَالَ: «أرأَيتم إِنْ أَسْلَمَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ؟» قَالُوا أَعَاذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ. فَخَرَجَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَقَالُوا: شَرُّنَا وَابْنُ شَرِّنَا فَانْتَقَصُوهُ قَالَ: هَذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَخَافُ يَا رسولَ الله رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
