Sahl bin Hanzaliyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I participated in the Battle of Hunayn with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We continued our journey until the last part of the night. A horseman came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I climbed on top of such and such mountain, and I suddenly saw the Hawazin tribe, all of them gathering towards Hunayn with their cattle and their possessions." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said, "If Allah wills, tomorrow they will be the spoils of war for the Muslims." Then you (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Who will keep watch for us tonight?" Anas bin Abi Marthad Al-Ghanawi (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! I will." You (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Mount (your horse)." He mounted his horse. You (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go towards this valley until you reach its peak." When morning came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to his prayer place and prayed two rak'ahs. Then he said, "Did you notice your horseman?" A man said, "O Messenger of Allah! We did not notice." The call to prayer was given, and while praying, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept turning his attention towards that valley. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished praying, he said, "Rejoice, your horseman has come." We also started looking towards that valley from among the trees, and suddenly he came until he stood before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said, "I went until I was at the highest part of that valley, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had commanded. When morning came, I went around both sides of those valleys, but I did not see anyone." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Did you dismount (your horse) during the night?" He replied, "Except for praying or relieving myself, I did not dismount." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you do not do any righteous deed after this (night), then there is no blame on you." (Hasan) Narrated by Abu Dawood.

سہل بن حنظلیہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ غزوۂ حنین کے موقع پر انہوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ سفر کیا ، انہوں نے سفر جاری رکھا حتیٰ کہ پچھلا پہر ہو گیا ، ایک گھڑ سوار آیا اور اس نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! میں فلاں فلاں پہاڑ کے اوپر چڑھا ہوں اور میں نے اچانک ہوازن قبیلے کو دیکھا ہے کہ وہ سب کے سب اپنے مویشیوں اور اپنے اموال کے ساتھ حنین کی طرف اکٹھے ہو رہے ہیں ، اس پر رسول اللہ ﷺ مسکرائے اور فرمایا :’’ ان شاء اللہ تعالیٰ کل وہ مسلمانوں کا مال غنیمت ہو گا ۔‘‘ پھر آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ آج رات ہمارا پہرہ کون دے گا ؟‘‘ انس بن ابی مرثد الغنوی ؓ نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! میں ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ سوار ہو جاؤ ۔‘‘ وہ اپنے گھوڑے پر سوار ہوئے ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اس گھاٹی کی طرف جاؤ حتیٰ کہ تم اس کی چوٹی پر پہنچ جاؤ ۔‘‘ جب صبح ہوئی تو رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنی جائے نماز پر تشریف لے گئے اور دو رکعت نماز ادا کی ، پھر فرمایا :’’ کیا تم نے اپنے گھڑ سوار کو محسوس کیا ؟‘‘ ایک آدمی نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! ہم نے محسوس نہیں کیا ، نماز کے لیے اقامت کہی گئی تو رسول اللہ ﷺ دوران نماز اس گھاٹی کی طرف التفات فرماتے رہے حتیٰ کہ جب آپ ﷺ نماز پڑھ چکے تو فرمایا :’’ خوش ہو جاؤ ، تمہارا گھڑ سوار آ گیا ہے ۔‘‘ ہم بھی درختوں کے درمیان اس گھاٹی کی طرف دیکھنے لگے تو وہ اچانک آ گیا حتیٰ کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس آ کر کھڑا ہو گیا تو اس نے عرض کیا ، میں چلتا گیا حتیٰ کہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے فرمان کے مطابق اس گھاٹی کے بلند ترین حصے پر تھا ، جب صبح ہوئی تو میں ان دونوں گھاٹیوں کے اطراف سے ہو آیا ہوں ، لیکن میں نے کسی کو نہیں دیکھا ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان سے پوچھا :’’ کیا رات کے وقت تم (اپنے گھوڑے سے) نیچے اترے تھے ؟‘‘ انہوں نے عرض کیا : نماز پڑھنے یا قضائے حاجت کے علاوہ میں نہیں اترا ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ اگر تم اس (رات) کے بعد کوئی بھی نیک عمل نہ کرو تو تم پر کوئی مؤاخذہ نہیں ۔‘‘ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ ابوداؤد ۔
Sahl bin Hanzila se riwayat hai ki Ghazwa e Hunain ke mauqe par unhon ne Rasulullah SAW ke sath safar kya, unhon ne safar jari rakha hatta ki pichla pahar ho gaya, ek ghor sawar aaya aur us ne arz kya, Allah ke Rasul! main falan falan pahar ke upar charha hun aur main ne achanak Hawazin qabeele ko dekha hai ki woh sab ke sab apne maweshio aur apne amwal ke sath Hunain ki taraf ikatthe ho rahe hain, is par Rasulullah SAW muskurae aur farmaya: ''Insha Allah Tala kal woh Musalmanon ka maal e ghanimat ho ga.'' Phir Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Aaj raat hamara pahra kaun dega?'' Anas bin Abi Marthad al-Ghanvi RA ne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasul! main, Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Sawar ho jao.'' Woh apne ghore par sawar hue, Aap SAW ne farmaya: ''Is ghati ki taraf jao hatta ki tum is ki choti par pahunch jao.'' Jab subah hui to Rasulullah SAW apni jae namaz par tashreef le gaye aur do rakat namaz ada ki, phir farmaya: ''Kya tum ne apne ghor sawar ko mehsoos kiya?'' Ek aadmi ne arz kya, Allah ke Rasul! hum ne mehsoos nahin kiya, namaz ke liye iqamat kahi gayi to Rasulullah SAW dauran e namaz is ghati ki taraf iltifat farmate rahe hatta ki jab Aap SAW namaz parh chuke to farmaya: ''Khush ho jao, tumhara ghor sawar aa gaya hai.'' Hum bhi darakhton ke darmiyan is ghati ki taraf dekhne lage to woh achanak aa gaya hatta ki Rasulullah SAW ke paas aa kar khara ho gaya to us ne arz kya, main chalta gaya hatta ki main Rasulullah SAW ke farman ke mutabiq is ghati ke buland tarin hisse par tha, jab subah hui to main in donon ghation ke atraaf se ho aaya hun, lekin main ne kisi ko nahin dekha, Rasulullah SAW ne un se poocha: ''Kya raat ke waqt tum (apne ghore se) neeche utre the?'' Unhon ne arz kya: ''Namaz parhne ya qaza e hajat ke ilawa main nahin utra, Rasulullah SAW ne farmaya: ''Agar tum is (raat) ke baad koi bhi nek amal na karo to tum par koi moakhaza nahin.'' Isnadahu Hasan, Rawahu Abu Dawud.
وَعَن\سهل ابْن الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ أَنَّهُمْ سَارُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ فَأَطْنَبُوا السَّيْرَ حَتَّى كَانَت عَشِيَّةً فَجَاءَ فَارِسٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي طَلِعْتُ عَلَى جَبَلِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَإِذَا أَنَا بِهَوَازِنَ عَلَى بَكْرَةِ أَبِيهِمْ بِظُعُنِهِمْ وَنَعَمِهِمُ اجْتَمَعُوا إِلَى حُنَيْنٍ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ تِلْكَ غَنِيمَةٌ الْمُسْلِمِينَ غَدا إِن شَاءَ الله ثمَّ قَالَ مَنْ يَحْرُسُنَا اللَّيْلَةَ قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ارْكَبْ فَرَكِبَ فَرَسًا لَهُ فَقَالَ: «اسْتَقْبِلْ هَذَا الشِّعْبَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ فِي أَعْلَاهُ» . فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى مُصَلَّاهُ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَلْ حسستم فارسكم قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا حَسِسْنَا فَثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ يَلْتَفِتُ إِلَى الشِّعْبِ حَتَّى إِذَا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ أَبْشِرُوا فَقَدْ جَاءَ فَارِسُكُمْ فَجَعَلْنَا نَنْظُرُ إِلَى خِلَالِ الشَّجَرِ فِي الشِّعْبِ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَدْ جَاءَ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسلم فَقَالَ إِنِّي انْطَلَقْتُ حَتَّى كُنْتُ فِي أَعْلَى هَذَا الشِّعْبِ حَيْثُ أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا أَصبَحت اطَّلَعت الشِّعْبَيْنِ كِلَيْهِمَا فَلَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَلْ نَزَلْتَ اللَّيْلَةَ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا مُصَلِّيَا أَوْ قَاضِيَ حَاجَةٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَلَا عَلَيْكَ أَنْ لَا تَعْمَلَ بعدَها» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد\
