Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I brought some dates to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, pray for blessings in them." He gathered them together and prayed for blessings in them for me, and said, "Take them and put them in your food bag, and when you want to eat some, put your hand in and take some, and do not take them all out at once." So I gave away so much of those dates in charity, and we ate from them and fed others from them, and it never left my waist until the day of Uthman's martyrdom, when it was cut off. Its chain of narration is Hasan (Good). Narrated by At-Tirmidhi.

ابوہریرہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، میں کچھ کھجوریں لے کر نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو میں نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! ان میں برکت کے لیے دعا فرمائیں ، آپ ﷺ نے انہیں اکٹھا کیا پھر میرے لیے ان میں برکت کی دعا فرمائی ، اور فرمایا :’’ انہیں لے لو اور انہیں اپنے توشہ دان میں رکھ لو ، جب بھی تم ان میں سے کچھ لینا چاہو تو اس میں اپنا ہاتھ ڈال کر لے لینا اور انہیں مکمل طور پر باہر نہ نکالنا ۔‘‘ میں نے ان میں سے اتنے اتنے وسق کھجور اللہ کی راہ میں عطا کیے ، ہم خود بھی اس میں سے کھاتے تھے اور کھلاتے بھی تھے ، اور وہ میری کمر سے الگ نہیں ہوتا تھا حتیٰ کہ عثمان ؓ کی شہادت کے روز وہ منقطع ہو کر گر پڑا ۔ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ الترمذی ۔
Abu Hurairah bayan karte hain, main kuch khajoorein lekar Nabi ki khidmat mein hazir hua to maine arz kiya, Allah ke Rasool! In mein barkat ke liye dua farmaein, aap ne unhein akatha kiya phir mere liye in mein barkat ki dua farmaee, aur farmaya: ''Inhein le lo aur inhein apne tosha daan mein rakh lo, jab bhi tum in mein se kuch lena chaho to is mein apna hath daal kar le lena aur inhein mukammal tor par bahar na nikalna.'' Main ne in mein se itne itne wasaq khajoor Allah ki rah mein ata kiye, hum khud bhi is mein se khate the aur khilate bhi the, aur wo meri kamar se alag nahin hota tha hatta ke Usman ki shahadat ke roz wo munqata ho kar gir para. Isnadahu hasan, riwayatut Tirmizi.
وَعَنْ أَبِي\هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمَرَاتٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَضَمَّهُنَّ ثُمَّ دَعَا لي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبركَةِ فَقَالَ خذهن واجعلهن فِي مِزْوَدِكَ كُلَّمَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَأَدْخِلْ فِيهِ يَدَكَ فَخُذْهُ وَلَا تَنْثُرْهُ نَثْرًا فَقَدْ حَمَلْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ وَسْقٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَكُنَّا نَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ وَنُطْعِمُ وَكَانَ لَا يُفَارِقُ حَقْوِي حَتَّى كَانَ يَوْمُ قَتْلِ عُثْمَانَ فَإِنَّهُ انْقَطَعَ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ\
