Description of the virtues of Hazrat Umar (RA)
بيان مناقب حضرة عمر رضي الله عنه

Baridah (RA) narrates: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went out for a battle. When he returned, a black woman came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I had made a vow that if Allah brought you back safe and sound, I would play the tambourine in front of you and sing a song." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her: “If you vowed, then play the tambourine. And if you did not vow, then do not.” She began to play. Abu Bakr (RA) came, and she kept playing. Then Ali (RA) came, and she kept playing. Then Uthman (RA) came, and she kept playing. Then Umar (RA) came, and she put the tambourine under her hips and sat on it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Umar, even Satan is afraid of you! I was sitting here and she kept playing the tambourine. Abu Bakr came and she kept playing. Then Ali came and she kept playing. Then Uthman came and she kept playing. Then when you came, Umar, she threw the tambourine away." Tirmidhi. And he (Tirmidhi) said: This hadith is hasan sahih gharib.

بریدہ ؓ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ کسی غزوہ کے لیے تشریف لے گئے ، جب آپ واپس ہوئے تو ایک سیاہ فام عورت آپ کے پاس آئی تو اس نے عرض کیا ، اللہ کے رسول ! میں نے نذر مانی تھی کہ اگر اللہ آپ کو صحیح سلامت واپس لے آیا تو میں آپ کے سامنے دف بجاؤں گی اور غزل پڑھوں گی ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اسے فرمایا :’’ اگر تو نے نذر مانی تھی تو پھر دف بجا لے اور اگر نذر نہیں مانی تو پھر نہیں ۔‘‘ وہ بجانے لگی تو ابوبکر ؓ تشریف لائے ، وہ (ان کے آنے پر) بجاتی رہی ، پھر علی ؓ تشریف لائے اور وہ بجاتی رہی ، پھر عثمان ؓ تشریف لائے تو وہ بجاتی رہی ، پھر عمر ؓ تشریف لائے تو اس نے دف اپنے سرین کے نیچے رکھ لی اور اس پر بیٹھ گئی ، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ عمر ! شیطان تم سے ڈرتا ہے ، میں بیٹھا ہوا تھا اور وہ دف بجاتی رہی ، ابوبکر آئے تو وہ بجاتی رہی ، پھر علی آئے تو وہ بجاتی رہی ، پھر عثمان آئے تو وہ بجاتی رہی ، عمر جب تم آئے تو اس نے دف پھینک دی ۔‘‘ ترمذی ، اور فرمایا : یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے ۔ اسنادہ حسن ، رواہ الترمذی ۔
Barira bayan karte hain, Rasul Allah kisi ghazwa ke liye tashreef le gaye, jab aap wapas huye to ek siyah fam aurat aap ke pass aai to usne arz kiya, Allah ke Rasul! main ne nazr mani thi ke agar Allah aap ko sahih salamat wapas le aaya to main aap ke samne daf bajaunga aur ghazal parhungi, Rasul Allah ne use farmaya: ''Agar tum ne nazr mani thi to phir daf baja le aur agar nazr nahi mani to phir nahi.'' Woh bajane lagi to Abubakar tashreef laye, woh (un ke aane par) bajati rahi, phir Ali tashreef laye aur woh bajati rahi, phir Usman tashreef laye to woh bajati rahi, phir Umar tashreef laye to usne daf apne sareeran ke neeche rakh li aur us par baith gayi, Rasul Allah ne farmaya: ''Umar! shaitan tum se darta hai, main baitha hua tha aur woh daf bajati rahi, Abubakar aaye to woh bajati rahi, phir Ali aaye to woh bajati rahi, phir Usman aaye to woh bajati rahi, Umar jab tum aaye to usne daf phenk di.'' Tirmidhi, aur farmaya: Yah hadees hasan sahih gharib hai. Isnaadahu hasan, raah Tirmidhi.
وَعَن بُرَيْدَة قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْضِ مَغَازِيهِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ جَاءَتْ جَارِيَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ. فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كنتُ نذرت إِن ردك الله سالما أَنْ أَضْرِبَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ بِالدُّفِّ وَأَتَغَنَّى. فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنْ كُنْتِ نَذَرْتِ فَاضْرِبِي وَإِلَّا فَلَا» فَجَعَلَتْ تَضْرِبُ فَدَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عُثْمَانُ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عُمَرُ فَأَلْقَتِ الدُّفَّ تَحْتَ اسْتِهَا ثُمَّ قَعَدَتْ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَيَخَافُ مِنْكَ يَا عُمَرُ إِنِّي كُنْتُ جَالِسًا وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ فَدَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عُثْمَانُ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ فَلَمَّا دَخَلْتَ أَنْتَ يَا عُمَرُ أَلْقَتِ الدُّفَّ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ. وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيب
