Description of the virtues of Hazrat Uthman (RA)
بيان مناقب حضرة عثمان رضي الله عنه

Abu Sahla, the freed slave of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was secretly telling something to Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and the color of Uthman's face was changing. When it was the day of the siege, we said: Shall we not fight? He said: No, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has advised me of a matter and I will keep myself bound to it. - Sahih, Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Dala'il al-Nubuwwah.

عثمان ؓ کے آزاد کردہ غلام ابوسہلہ بیان کرتے ہیں ، رسول اللہ ﷺ عثمان ؓ سے مخفی طور پر کوئی بات کر رہے تھے ، اور عثمان ؓ کا رنگ متغیر ہو رہا تھا ، جب محاصرے کا دن تھا تو ہم نے کہا : کیا ہم لڑائی نہیں کریں گے ؟ انہوں نے فرمایا : نہیں ، کیونکہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے ایک امر کی وصیت کی ہے اور میں اپنے آپ کو اس کا پابند رکھوں گا ۔ صحیح ، رواہ البیھقی فی دلائل النبوۃ ۔
Usman RA ke azad karda gulam Abu Suhala bayan karte hain, Rasul Allah SAW Usman RA se makhfi tor par koi baat kar rahe the, aur Usman RA ka rang mutagair ho raha tha, jab muhasre ka din tha to hum ne kaha: kya hum ladai nahin karenge? Unhon ne farmaya: nahin, kyunki Rasul Allah SAW ne mujhe ek amr ki wasiyat ki hai aur main apne aap ko is ka paband rakhunga. Sahih, Riwayat al-Bayhaqi fi Dalail al-Nubuwwah.
وَعَن أبي\سلهة مولى عُثْمَان رَضِي الله عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسِرُّ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ وَلَوْنُ عُثْمَانَ يَتَغَيَّرُ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْم الدَّار قُلْنَا: أَلا نُقَاتِل؟ قَالَ: لَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ أَمْرًا فَأَنَا صَابِرٌ نَفسِي عَلَيْهِ\
