Chapter: Regarding the saying of Allah, the most High: "And warn your tribe of near kindred."

باب فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ}
Sahih Muslim 204a
Abu Huraira reported:When this verse was revealed:" And warn thy nearest kindred (al-Qur'an, xxvi. 214), the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called the Quraish; so they gathered and he gave them a general warning. Then he made a particular (reference to certain tribes) and said: O sons of Ka'b b. Luwayy, rescue yourselves from the Fire; O sons of Murra b. Ka'b, rescue yourselves from the Fire: O sons of Abd Shams, rescue yourselves from the Fire; 0 sons of Abd Manaf rescue yourselves from the Fire; O sons of Hashim, rescue yourselves from the Fire; 0 sons of Abd al-Muttalib, rescue yourselves from the Fire; O Fatimah, rescue thyself from the Fire, for I have no power (to protect you) from Allah in anything except this that I would sustain relationship with you.
حضرت ابو ہریرہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ جب یہ آیت اتری: ”اپنے انتہائی قریبی رشتہ داروں کو ڈرائیے۔“ (الشعراء: 214) تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے قریش کو بلایا، جب جمع ہوگئے، تو آپ نے خطاب میں عام اور خاص لوگوں کو مخاطب فرمایا: ”اے کعب بن لوئی کی اولاد! اپنے آپ کو آگ سے بچاؤ! اے مرّہ بن کعب کی اولاد! اپنے آپ کو دوزخ سے بچا لو! اے عبد شمس کی اولاد! اپنے آپ کو آگ سے بچاؤ! اے عبد مناف کی اولاد! اپنے آپ کو آگ سے بچاؤ! اے ہاشمیو! اپنے آپ کو آگ سے بچاؤ! اے عبدالمطلب کے بیٹو! اپنے آپ کو آگ سے بچاؤ! اے فاطمہ! اپنے آپ کو آگ سے بچا! میں اللہ تعالیٰ کے مقابلے میں (اگروہ تمھیں پکڑنا چاہے) تمھارے لیے کسی چیز کا مالک نہیں ہوں۔ ہاں اتنی بات ہے، تمھارے ساتھ رشتہ داری ہے، میں اس کو جوڑتا رہوں گا، میں اس طراوت کی وجہ سے اس کو تر رکھوں گا۔“
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radiallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke jab yeh ayat utri: 'Apne intiha-i qareebi rishta-daron ko drayie.' (Al-Shu'ara: 214). To Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Quraish ko bulaya, jab jama hogaye, to Aap ne khitab mein aam aur khaas logon ko mukhatab farmaya: "Ae Ka'b bin Luwayi ki aulad! Apne aap ko aag se bachao! Ae Murra bin Ka'b ki aulad! Apne aap ko dozakh se bacha lo! Ae Abd Shams ki aulad! Apne aap ko aag se bachao! Ae Abd Manaf ki aulad! Apne aap ko aag se bachao! Ae Hashmiyo! Apne aap ko aag se bachao! Ae Abdul Muttalib ke beto! Apne aap ko aag se bachao! Ae Fatima! Apne aap ko aag se bacha! Main Allah Ta'ala ke muqable mein (agar woh tumhein pakadna chahe) tumhare liye kisi cheez ka maalik nahin hoon. Haan itni baat hai, tumhare saath rishta-dari hai, main is ko jodd-ta rahoon ga, main is tarawat ki wajah se is ko tar rakkhoon ga."
The same Hadith is narrated by Ubaidallah bin Umar al-Qawariri from Abu 'Uwana, who transmitted it to 'Abd al-Malik bin 'Umair on the same chain of transmitter and the Hadith of Jarir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) is more perfect and comprehensive.
امام صاحب مذکورہ روایت ایک اور سند سے بیان کرتے ہیں۔
Imam Sahab mazkoora riwayat ek aur sanad se bayan karte hain.
It is narrated on the authority of 'A'isha that when this verse was revealed:" And warn thy nearest kindred," the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up on Safa' and said: O Fatima, daughter of Muhammad. O Safiya, daughter of 'Abd al-Muttalib, O sons of 'Abd al-Muttalib. I have nothing which can avail you against Allah; you may ask me what you want of my worldly belongings.
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنھا سے روایت ہے کہ جب سورۂ شعراء کی آیت ”اور اپنے قریب ترین رشتہ داروں کو ڈرائیے۔“ نازل ہوئی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے صفا پہاڑ پر چڑھ کر فرمایا: ”اے محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی لخت ِ جگر فاطمہ! اےعبدالمطلب کی بیٹی صفیہ! اے عبدالمطلب کی اولاد! میں اللہ تعالیٰ کے مقابلہ میں تمھارے لیے کسی چیز کا مالک نہیں (یعنی اس کی اجازت کے بغیر اس کے عذاب سے نہیں بچا سکتا) میرے مال سے جو چاہو مانگ لو۔“
Hazrat Aisha (Radiallahu Anha) se riwayat hai ke jab Surah Shu'ara ki ayat 'Aur apne qareeb-tareen rishta-daron ko drayie' nazil hui to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Safa pahad par chadh kar farmaya: "Ae Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki lakht-e-jigar Fatima! Ae Abdul Muttalib ki beti Safiyah! Ae Abdul Muttalib ki aulad! Main Allah Ta'ala ke muqabla mein tumhare liye kisi cheez ka maalik nahin (yani is ki ijazat ke baghair is ke azab se nahin bacha sakta) mere maal se jo chaho maang lo."
Abu Huraira reported:When (this verse) was revealed to him:" Warn your nearest kinsmen." the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: O people of Quraish, buy yourselves from Allah, I cannot avail you at all against Allah; O sons of Abd al-Muttalib. I cannot avail you at all against Allah; 0 Abbas b. 'Abd al- Muttalib, I cannot avail you at all against Allah; O Safiya (aunt of the Messenger of Allah), I cannot avail you at all against Allah; 0 Fatima, daughter of Muhammad, ask me whatever you like, but I cannot avail you at all against Allah.
حضرت ابو ہریرہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ جب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر سورۂ شعراء کی آیت: ﴿وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ﴾ (الشعراء: 214) اتری تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اے قریش کی جماعت! اپنے آپ کو اللہ تعالیٰ سے خرید لو (ایمان لا کر نیک اعمال کر لو)، میں اللہ تعالی کے مقابلے میں تمھارے کچھ کام نہیں آسکتا، اے عبدالمطلب کی اولاد! میں اللہ کے مقابلہ میں تمھیں کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچا سکتا، اے عبدالمطلب کے بیٹے عباس! میں اللہ کے مقابلہ میں تمھارے کچھ کام نہیں آسکتا، اے اللہ کے رسول کی پھوپھی صفیہ! میں تم سے اللہ کے عذاب کو نہیں ٹال سکتا، اے اللہ کے رسول کی بیٹی فاطمہ! مجھ سے جو چاہو مانگ لو، میں اللہ کے سامنے تیرے کچھ کام نہیں آسکتا۔“
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radiallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke jab Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) par Surah Shu'ara ki ayat: "Wa anzir asheeratakal aqrabeen" (Al-Shu'ara: 214) utri to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Ae Quraish ki jamaat! Apne aap ko Allah Ta'ala se khareed lo (iman la kar naik aamaal kar lo), main Allah Ta'ala ke muqable mein tumhare kuch kaam nahin aasakta, ae Abdul Muttalib ki aulad! Main Allah ke muqable mein tumhein koi faida nahin pahuncha sakta, ae Abdul Muttalib ke bete Abbas! Main Allah ke muqable mein tumhare kuch kaam nahin aasakta, ae Allah ke Rasul ki phouphi Safiyah! Main tum se Allah ke azab ko nahin taal sakta, ae Allah ke Rasul ki beti Fatima! Mujh se jo chaho maang lo, me Allah ke saamne tere kuch kaam nahin aasakta."
This Hadith is narrated from the Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) by another chain of narrators, Amr al-Naqid, Mu'awiya bin Amr, Abdullah bin Dhakwan, A'raj on the authority of Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه).
امام صاحب ایک اور سند سے مذکورہ بالا روایت بیان کرتے ہیں۔

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوَ هَذَا .
Sahih Muslim 207a
Qabisa b. al-Mukhariq and Zuhair b. 'Amr reported:When this verse was revealed:" And warn thy nearest kindred," the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set off towards a rock of the hill and ascended the highest of the rocks and then called: 0 sons of 'Abd Manaf! I am a warner; my similitude and your similitude is like a man who saw the enemy and went to guard his people, but, being afraid they might get there before him, he shouted: Be on your guard!
حضرت قبیصہؓ اور زہیر بن عمرو ؓ سے روایت ہے: کہ جب آیت: ﴿وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ﴾ اتری، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک پہاڑی ٹیلے پر تشریف لے گئے، اور اس کے سب سے اونچے پتھر پر چڑھ گئے، پھر آواز دی: ” اے عبد مناف کی اولاد! میں ڈرانے والا ہوں، میری اور تمھاری مثال اس آدمی کی ہے جس نے دشمن کو دیکھا، تو وہ خاندان کو بچانے کے لیے چل پڑا اور اسے خطرہ محسوس ہوا کہ دشمن اس سے پہلے نہ پہنچ جائے، تو وہ چلانے لگا: اے صبح کا حملہ!(دشمن سے چوکنے ہوجاؤ)۔“
Hazrat Qabisah (Radiallahu Anhu) aur Zuhair bin Amr (Radiallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai: Ke jab ayat: "Wa anzir asheeratakal aqrabeen" utri, to Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ek pahadi teele par tashreef le gaye, aur is ke sab se oonche patthar par chadh gaye, phir awaz di: "Ae Abd Manaf ki aulad! Main dranewala hoon, meri aur tumhari misal is aadmi ki hai jis ne dushman ko dekha, to woh khandan ko bachane ke liye chal pada aur ise khatra mehsoos hua ke dushman is se pehle na pahunch jaye, to woh chillane laga: Ae subha ka hamla! (dushman se choukne ho jao)."
This hadith is narrated from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) by another chain of narrators, Muhammad b. Abd al-A'la, Mu'tamir, Abu 'Uthman, Zuhair b. 'Amr, Qabisa b. Mukhariq.
امام صاحب ایک اور سند سے مذکورہ بالا روایت بیان کرتے ہیں۔

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، وَقَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِنَحْوِهِ .
Sahih Muslim 208a
It is reported on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that when this verse was revealed:" And warn thy nearest kindred" (and thy group of selected people among them) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set off till he climbed Safa' and called loudly: Be on your guard! They said: Who is it calling aloud? They said: Muhammad. They gathered round him, and he said: O sons of so and so, O sons of so and so, O sons of 'Abd Manaf, O sons of 'Abd al-Muttalib, and they gathered around him. He (the Apostle) said: If I were to inform you that there were horsemen emerging out of the foot of this mountain, would you believe me? They said: We have not experienced any lie from you. He said: Well, I am a warner to you before a severe torment. He (the narrator) said that Abu Lahab then said: Destruction to you! Is it for this you have gathered us? He (the Holy Prophet) then stood up, and this verse was revealed:" Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and he indeed perished" (cxi. 1). A'mash recited this to the end of the Sura.
حضرت ابنِ عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے: کہ جب یہ آیت اتری: ”اپنے انتہائی قریبی رشتہ داروں کو ڈرائیے۔“ اور ان میں سے خاص کر اپنے خاندان کے سچے اور مخلص لوگوں کو، تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نکل کر صفا پہاڑ پر چڑھے اور بلند آواز سے فرمایا: "يَا صَبَاحَاهُ" ”دفاع کے لیے تیار ہو جاؤ!“ لوگوں نے ایک دوسرے سے پوچھا: یہ کون آواز دے رہا ہے؟ جواب ملا: محمد(صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) تو سب لوگ آپ کے پاس جمع ہو گئے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اے فلاں کی اولاد! اے فلاں کی اولاد! اے فلاں کی اولاد! اے عبد مناف کی اولاد! اے عبدالمطلب کی اولاد!“ یہ لوگ آپ کے قریب جمع ہو گئے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ”بتاؤ! اگر میں تمھیں اطلاع دوں، کہ اس پہاڑ کے دامن سے گھڑ سوار نکلنے والے ہیں، تو کیا تم میری تصدیق کرو گے؟“ انھوں نے کہا: ہم نے تمھیں کبھی جھوٹا نہیں پایا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”میں تمھیں سخت عذاب (کی آمد) سے پہلے ڈرا رہا ہوں۔“ تو ابو لہب نے کہا: تم ہلاک ہو جاؤ! کیا تو نے ہمیں اس خاطر جمع کیا تھا؟ پھر وہ کھڑا ہو گیا، تو اس پر یہ سورت اتری! ”ابو لہب کے دونوں ہاتھ تباہ ہوئے۔“ یقیناً وہ خود ہلاک ہوا۔(سورۂ لہب) اعمش نے پوری سورت قراءت کی اور "قَد" کے اضافے سے پڑھا۔ یعنی "قَد تَبَّ" پڑھا۔
Hazrat Ibn-e-Abbas (Radiallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai: Ke jab yeh ayat utri: 'Apne intiha-i qareebi rishta-daron ko drayie.' Aur in mein se khaas kar apne khandan ke sacche aur mukhlish logon ko, to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) nikal kar Safa pahad par chadhe aur buland awaz se farmaya: 'Ya Sabahaha' 'Difa ke liye tayyar ho jao!' Logon ne ek doosre se poocha: Yeh kaun awaz de raha hai? Jawab mila: Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) to sab log Aap ke paas jama ho gaye. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Ae falan ki aulad! Ae falan ki aulad! Ae falan ki aulad! Ae Abd Manaf ki aulad! Ae Abdul Muttalib ki aulad!" Yeh log Aap ke qareeb jama ho gaye, to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne poocha: "Batao! Agar main tumhein ittela doon, ke is pahad ke daman se ghad-suwar nikalne wale hain, to kya tum meri tasdeeq karoge?" Unhon ne kaha: Hum ne tumhein kabhi jhoota nahin paya. Aap ne farmaya: "Main tumhein sakht azab (ki aamad) se pehle dra raha hoon." To Abu Lahab ne kaha: Tum halak ho jao! Kya Tu ne humein is khatir jama kiya tha? Phir woh khada ho gaya, to is par yeh surat utri! 'Abu Lahab ke dono haath tabah huye.' Yaqeenan woh khud halak hua. (Surah Lahab). Aamash ne poori surat qira'at ki aur 'qad' ke izafe se parha. Yani 'qad tabba' parha.
This hadith was narrated by A'mash on the authority of the same chain of narrators and he said:One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) climbed the hill of Safa' and said: Be on your guard, and the rest of the hadith was narrated like the hadith transmitted by Usama; he made no mention of the revelation of the verse:" Warn thy nearest kindred."
امام صاحب ایک اور سند سے بیان کرتے ہیں: کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک دن کوہِ صفا پر چڑھے اور فرمایا: «يَا صَبَاحَاهُ» ابو اسامہ کی طرح روایت بیان کی۔ لیکن آیت ﴿وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ﴾ کے اترنے کا تذکرہ نہیں کیا۔
Imam Sahab (Rahmatullah Alaih) ek aur sanad se bayan karte hain: Ke Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ek din Koh-e-Safa par chadhe aur farmaya: 'Ya Sabahaha' Abu Usamah ki tarah riwayat bayan ki. Lekin ayat 'Wa anzir asheeratakal aqrabeen' ke utrne ka tazkira nahin kiya.
