It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) said, when you journey through a fertile land, you should (go slow and) give the camels a chance to graze in the land. When you travel in an arid (land) where there is scarcity of vegetation, you should quicken their pace (lest your camels grow feeble and emaciated for lack of fodder). When you halt for the night, avoid (pitching your tent on) the road, for it is the abode of noxious little animals at night.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم سبزہ کے موسم میں سفر اختیار کرو تو اونٹوں کو زمین سے ان کا حصہ دو، اور جب تم خشک سالی میں سفر کرو تو تیز رفتار کو اختیار کرو۔ اور جب تم رات کو پڑاؤ کرو، تو راستہ پر اترنے سے اجتناب کرو، کیونکہ رات کو وہ زہریلے کیڑوں کا ٹھکانہ ہوتے ہیں۔“
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Raziallahu Anhu) bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jab tum sabzah ke mausam mein safar ikhtiyar karo to oonton ko zameen se un ka hissa do, aur jab tum khushk sali mein safar karo to tez raftari ko ikhtiyar karo. Aur jab tum raat ko padaw karo, to rasta par utarne se ijtinab karo, kyunke raat ko woh zaheerle keedon ka thikana hote hain."
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا سَافَرْتُمْ فِي الْخِصْبِ فَأَعْطُوا الإِبِلَ حَظَّهَا مِنَ الأَرْضِ وَإِذَا سَافَرْتُمْ فِي السَّنَةِ فَأَسْرِعُوا عَلَيْهَا السَّيْرَ وَإِذَا عَرَّسْتُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّرِيقَ فَإِنَّهَا مَأْوَى الْهَوَامِّ بِاللَّيْلِ " .
