Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to pray the afternoon prayer when the sun was high and bright, then one would go off to al-Awali and get there while the sun was still high. Ibn Qutaiba made no mention of ‘one would go off to al-Awali’.
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عصر کی نماز ایسے وقت میں پڑھتے تھے کہ سورج بلند اور زندہ ہوتا تھا، پس عوالی کی طرف جانے والا (عصر پڑھ کر) چلتا تھا تو وہ عوالی ایسے وقت میں پہنچ جاتا تھا کہ آفتاب ابھی بلند ہوتا تھا۔ اور قتیبہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ نے عوالی پہنچنے کا ذکر نہیں کیا۔
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) asr ki namaz aise waqt mein parhte thay ke sooraj buland aur zinda hota tha, pas awali ki taraf jaane wala (asr parh kar) chalta tha to wo awali aise waqt mein pahunch jata tha ke aaftab abhi buland hota tha. Aur Qutaiba (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ne awali pahunchne ka zikr nahi kiya.
This Hadith that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to offer the afternoon prayer like the one narrated above has been transmitted by Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) by another chain of transmitters.
امام صاحب ایک اور استاد سے مذکورہ بالا روایت بیان کرتے ہیں۔
Imam Sahab ek aur ustad se mazkoora bala riwayat bayan karte hain.
وَحَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، . أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ بِمِثْلِهِ سَوَاءً .
Sahih Muslim 621c
Anas bin Malik narrated that they used to offer the Asr prayer, then one would go to Quba and reach there and the sun would be still high.
حضرت انس سے روایت ہے کہ ہم عصر کی نماز پڑھتے تھے، پھر قباء جانے والا جاتا اور وہاں اس وقت پہنچتا جبکہ آفتاب ابھی بلند ہوتا تھا۔
Hazrat Anas se riwayat hai ke hum asr ki namaz parhte thay, phir Quba jaane wala jata aur wahan is waqt pahunchta jabke aaftab abhi buland hota tha.
Anas b. Malik reported:We used to offer the afternoon prayer (at such a time) that a person would go to Bani 'Amr b. Auf and he would find them busy offering the afternoon prayer.
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم عصر کی نماز پڑھتے، پھر انسان، بنو عمرو بن عوف کے محلّہ کی طرف جاتا تو وہ انہیں عصر کی نماز پڑھتے ہوئے پاتا۔
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke hum asr ki namaz parhte, phir insan, Banu Amr bin Auf ke muhalla ki taraf jata to wo unhein asr ki namaz parhte hue paata.
'Ala' b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported that they came to the house of Anas b. Malik in Basra after saying the noon prayer. His (Anas) house was situated by the side of the mosque. As revisited him he (Anas) said:Have you said the afternoon prayer? We said to him: It is just a few minutes before that we finished the noon prayer. He said: Offer the afternoon prayer. So we stood up and said our prayer. And when we completed it, he said: I have heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: This is how the hypocrite prays: he sits watching the sun, and when it is between the horns of devil, he rises and strikes the ground four times (in haste) mentioning Allah a little during it.
حضرت عطاء بن عبد الرحمٰن بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کے پاس بصرہ میں ان کے گھر نماز ظہر سے فارغ ہو کر گیا اور ان کا گھر مسجد کے پہلو میں تھا، جب ہم ان کی خدمت میں پہنچے تو انہوں نے پوچھا، کیا تم نے عصر کی نماز پڑھ لی ہے؟ تو ہم نے عرض کیا، ہم تو ابھی ظہر کی نماز پڑھ کر آ رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے ”کہ یہ منافق والی نماز ہے کہ آدمی بیٹھا ہوا آفتاب کا انتظار کرتا رہے، یہاں تک کہ (جب وہ زود پڑجائے) شیطان کے دو سینگوں کے درمیان ہو جاتا ہے تو کھڑا ہو کر چار ٹھونگیں مارتا ہے اور اللہ کو بہت ہی تھوڑا یاد کرتا ہے۔“
Hazrat Ata bin Abdur Rahman bayan karte hain ke main Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ke paas Basra mein un ke ghar namaz-e-zuhr se farigh ho kar gaya aur un ka ghar masjid ke pehlu mein tha, jab hum un ki khidmat mein pahunche to unhon ne pucha, kya tum ne asr ki namaz parh li hai? to hum ne arz kiya, hum to abhi zuhr ki namaz parh kar aa rahe hain. Unhon ne kaha, main ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ko farmate hue suna hai ‘ke yeh munafiq wali namaz hai ke aadmi baitha hua aaftab ka intezar karta rahe, yahan tak ke (jab wo zard parjaye) shaitan ke do seengon ke darmiyan ho jata hai to khara ho kar chaar thoongein marta hai aur Allah ko bahut hi thora yaad karta hai.’
Abu Umama b. Sahl reported:We offered the noon prayer with Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz. We then set out till we came to Anas b. Malik and found him busy in saying the afternoon prayer. I said to him: O uncle! which is this prayer that you are offering? He said: It is the afternoon prayer and this is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that we offered along with him.
حضرت ابو امامہ بن سہل رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم نے ظہر کی نماز عمر بن عبد العزیز رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کے ساتھ پڑھی، پھر ہم نکل کر انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے تو ہم نے انہیں عصر کی نماز پڑھتے ہوئے پایا تو میں نے پوچھا، اے چچا! یہ آپ نے کونسی نماز پڑھی ہے؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا، عصر کی اور یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نماز ہے جو ہم آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abu Umama bin Sahl (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke hum ne zuhr ki namaz Umar bin Abdul Aziz (Rahmatullah Alayhi) ke saath parhi, phir hum nikal kar Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ki khidmat mein hazir hue to hum ne unhein asr ki namaz parhte hue paya to main ne pucha, Aye chacha! yeh Aap ne kaunsi namaz parhi hai? unhon ne jawab diya, asr ki aur yeh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ki namaz hai jo hum Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke saath parha karte thay.
. Anas bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led us in the Asr prayer. When he completed it, a person from Bani Salama came to him and said, Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), we intend to slaughter our camel and we are desirous that you should also be present there (on this occasion). He (the Prophet ﷺ) said, yes. He (the person) went and we also went along with him and we found that the camel had not been slaughtered yet. Then it was slaughtered, and it was cut into pieces and then some of those were cooked, and then we ate (them) before the setting of the sun. This Hadith has also been narrated by another chain of transmitters.
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں عصر کی نماز پڑھائی تو جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فارغ ہوئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بنو سلمہ کا ایک آدمی آیا اور کہا اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! ہم اپنا اونٹ نحر کرنا چاہتے ہیں اور ہماری چاہت ہے، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس موقع پر موجود ہوں، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اچھا“، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چلے اور ہم بھی ساتھ ہو گئے تو ہم نے دیکھا کہ اونٹ ابھی نحر نہیں کیا گیا تھا تو اسے نحر کیا گیا پھر اس کا گوشت کاٹا گیا، پھر اس سے کچھ پکایا گیا، پھر ہم نے سورج غروب ہونے سے پہلے کھا لیا۔
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne hamein asr ki namaz parhayi to jab Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) farigh hue to Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke paas Banu Salama ka ek aadmi aaya aur kaha Aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)! hum apna oont nahar karna chahte hain aur hamari chahat hai, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is mauqa par maujood hon, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ‘acha’, Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) chale aur hum bhi saath ho gaye to hum ne dekha ke oont abhi nahar nahi kiya gaya tha to usay nahar kiya gaya phir us ka gosht kaata gaya, phir us se kuch pakaya gaya, phir hum ne sooraj ghuroob hone se pehle kha liya.
Rafi' b. Khadij reported:We used to say the afternoon prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and then the camel was slaughtered and ten parts of it were distributed; then it was cooked and then we ate this cooked meat before the sinking of the sun.
حضرت رافع بن خدیج رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز عصر پڑھتے، پھر اونٹ نحر کر کے اس کے دس حصے بنائے جاتے پھر اسے پکایا جاتا اور ہم پکایا ہوا گوشت سورج کے غروب ہونے سے پہلے کھا لیتے۔
Hazrat Rafi bin Khadeej (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) se riwayat hai ke hum Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke saath namaz-e-asr parhte, phir oont nahar kar ke us ke das hisse banaye jaate phir usay pakaya jata aur hum pakaya hua gosht sooraj ke ghuroob hone se pehle kha lete.
This Hadith has been reported by Auza'i with the same chain of transmitters, saying they used to slaughter the camel during the lifetime of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) after the Asr prayer, but he made no mention of, ‘they used to pray along with him.’
امام صاحب ایک اور استاد سے مذکورہ بالا روایت بیان کرتے ہیں۔ ہاں اتنا فرق ہے کہ اس نے کہا، ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے عہد میں عصر کے بعد اونٹ نحر کرتے تھے۔ یہ نہیں کہا ”ہم نماز میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ہوتے تھے۔“
Imam Sahab ek aur ustad se mazkoora bala riwayat bayan karte hain. Haan itna farq hai ke us ne kaha, hum Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke aehed mein asr ke baad oont nahar karte thay. Yeh nahi kaha ‘hum namaz mein Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ke saath hote thay.’
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، وَشُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُنَّا نَنْحَرُ الْجَزُورَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ . وَلَمْ يَقُلْ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَهُ .
