Chapter: Making up fasts on behalf of the deceased

باب قَضَاءِ الصِّيَامِ عَنِ الْمَيِّتِ
Sahih Muslim 1149b
Abdullah bin Buraida (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported on the authority of his father that he was sitting with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم); the rest of the Hadith is the same but with this variation that the (the narrator) said, ‘fasts of two months.’
یہی روایت امام صاحب اپنے ایک اور استاد سے بیان کرتے ہیں جس میں ”انا جالس عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم“ کے بجائے ”كنت جالسا عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم“ ہے اور اس میں ایک ماہ کے بجائے دو ماہ کے روزے ہیں۔
Yahi riwayat Imam Sahab apney ek aur ustad se bayan karte hain jis mein "Ana jalisun inda Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam" ke bajaye "Kuntu jalisun indan Nabiyi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam" hai aur is mein ek mah ke bajaye do mah ke roze hain.
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مُسْهِرٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَوْمُ شَهْرَيْنِ .
