Chapter: What should be said when returning from Hajj and other journeys

باب مَا يَقُولُ إِذَا قَفَلَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ الْحَجِّ وَغَيْرِهِ
Sahih Muslim 1344a
Abdullah bin 'Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported that whenever Allah's Apostle ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) came back from the battle or from expeditions or from Hajj or Umra and as he reached the top of the hillock or upon the elevated hard ground, he uttered Allah-u- Akbar thrice, and then said, ِْ يكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلَّ ُ وَحْدَهُ الَ شَرالَ إِلَهَ إِالَّ َّللا ََ ب ِنَا حَامِدُونِ دُونَ لِركُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَ هُوَ عَلَى كُل ِ شَىْءٍّ قَدِيرٌ آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ سَاجص [There is no god but Allah. He is One, there is no partner with Him, His is the sovereignty and His is the praise and He is Powerful over everything. (We are) returning, repenting, worshipping, prostrating before our Lord, and we praise Him]. ََابَمَ األَحْزَ عَبْدَهُ وَ هَزَّ ُ وَعْدَهُ وَ نَصَرصَدَقَ َّللا ُوَحْدَه [Allah fulfilled His promise and helped His servant and routed the confederates alone.
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کسی غزوہ یا سفر یا حج یا عمرہ سے واپس آتے اور کسی ٹیلے یا بلند سخت زمین پر پہنچتے تو تین مرتبہ اللہ اکبر کہتے، پھر فرماتے: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير، آئبون تائبون عابدون ساجدون لربنا حامدون۔ صدق الله وعده ونصر عبده وهزم الأحزاب وحده۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (radiyallahu ta'ala anhuma) se riwayat hai ke jab Rasul Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wasallam) kisi ghazwa ya safar ya hajj ya umrah se wapas aate aur kisi teele ya buland sakht zameen par pahunchte to teen martaba Allahu Akbar kehte, phir farmate: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay-in qadir, aaibuna taaibuna aabiduna sajiduna lirabbina hamiduna. Sadaqallahu wa'dahu wa nasara abdahu wa hazamal ahzaba wahdahu.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ح . وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، - وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ - عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا قَفَلَ مِنَ الْجُيُوشِ أَوِ السَّرَايَا أَوِ الْحَجِّ أَوِ الْعُمْرَةِ إِذَا أَوْفَى عَلَى ثَنِيَّةٍ أَوْ فَدْفَدٍ كَبَّرَ ثَلاَثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ " لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ سَاجِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ " .
