Chapter: Marriage is recommended for the one who desires it and can afford it, and the one who cannot afford it should distract himself by fasting

Sahih Muslim 1401
Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that some of the Companions of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) asked his (the Prophet's) wives about the acts that he performed in private. Someone among them (among his Companions) said:I will not marry women; someone among them said: I will not eat meat; and someone among them said: I will not lie down in bed. He (the Holy Prophet) praised Allah and glorified Him, and said: What has happened to these people that they say so and so, whereas I observe prayer and sleep too; I observe fast and suspend observing them; I marry women also? And he who turns away from my Sunnah, he has no relation with Me
حضرت انس ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے چند ساتھیوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ازواج مطہرات سے آپ کے خفیہ اعمال یا پوشیدہ عبادات کے بارے میں دریافت کیا، اس کے بعد ان میں سے ایک نے کہا، میں عورتوں سے شادی نہیں کروں گا، اور دوسرے نے کہا، میں گوشت نہیں کھاؤں گا، تیسرے نے کہا، میں بستر پر نہیں سوؤں گا، (آپ کو پتہ چلا) تو آپ نے اللہ تعالیٰ کی حمد و ثناء بیان کی اور فرمایا: "لوگوں کو کیا ہو گیا ہے، انہوں نے اس اس طرح کہا ہے؟ لیکن میرا طریقہ یہ ہے، نماز پڑھتا ہوں، اور سوتا بھی ہوں، روزہ رکھتا ہوں، اور چھوڑتا بھی ہوں، اور میں نے عورتوں سے شادی کی ہے، تو جو شخص میرے طرز عمل سے اعراض کرے گا، تو اس کا مجھ سے کوئی تعلق نہیں۔"
Hazrat Anas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ki Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke chand saathiyon ne Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki Azwaj-e-Mutahharaat se aap ke khufiya amaal ya posheeda ibadaat ke bare mein daryaft kiya, iske baad un mein se ek ne kaha, main aurato se shaadi nahin karunga, aur dusre ne kaha, main gosht nahin khaunga, teesre ne kaha, main bistar par nahin soonga, (aap ko pata chala) to aap ne Allah Ta'ala ki hamd-o-sana bayan ki aur farmaya: "Logo ko kya ho gaya hai, unho ne is is tarah kaha hai? Lekin mera tareeqa yeh hai, namaz padhta hoon, aur sota bhi hoon, roza rakhta hoon, aur chhodta bhi hoon, aur maine aurato se shaadi ki hai, to jo shakhs mere tarz-e-amal se e'raaz karega, to uska mujh se koi ta'alluq nahin.”
وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ نَفَرًا، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَأَلُوا أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ عَمَلِهِ فِي السِّرِّ فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لاَ أَتَزَوَّجُ النِّسَاءَ . وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لاَ آكُلُ اللَّحْمَ . وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لاَ أَنَامُ عَلَى فِرَاشٍ . فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ . فَقَالَ " مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ قَالُوا كَذَا وَكَذَا لَكِنِّي أُصَلِّي وَأَنَامُ وَأَصُومُ وَأُفْطِرُ وَأَتَزَوَّجُ النِّسَاءَ فَمَنْ رَغِبَ عَنْ سُنَّتِي فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي " .
