Chapter: The words of the Prophet (saws): "We (Prophets) have no heirs and whatever we leave behind is charity."

Sahih Muslim 1758
It is reported that Ummul Momineen A'isha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) (allegedly) said, when the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) died, his wives made up their minds to send 'Uthman bin 'Affan (as their spokesman) to Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) to demand from him their share from the property of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) told them, ‘has not the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘we (Prophets) do not have any heirs; what we leave behind is (to be given in) charity?
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہا بیان کرتی ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم وفات پا گئے تو نبی اکرمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیویوں نے حضرت عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کو حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ کے پاس بھیجنے کا ارادہ کیا، وہ ان سے نبی اکرمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ترکہ سے اپنا حصہ مانگتی تھیں، حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ نے ان سے کہا، کیا رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ نہیں فرما چکے ہیں: ”ہمارا کوئی وارث نہیں بنایا جائے گا، ہم نے جو کچھ چھوڑا تو وہ صدقہ ہو گا؟“
Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha) bayan karti hain ke jab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) wafat pa gaye toh Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki biwiyon ne Hazrat Uthman bin Affan (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ko Hazrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ke paas bhejne ka irada kiya, woh un se Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke tarka se apna hissa mangti thin, Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha) ne un se kaha, kya Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) yeh nahi farma chukay hain: “Hamara koi waris nahi banaya jaye ga, hum ne jo kuch chora toh woh sadqah ho ga?”
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَرَدْنَ أَنْ يَبْعَثْنَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَيَسْأَلْنَهُ مِيرَاثَهُنَّ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَهُنَّ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ " .
