Chapter: The command to believe in Allah and His Messenger (saws) and the laws of Islam, calling people to it, asking about it, memorizing it and conveying it to those who have not heard the message

باب الْأَمْرِ بِالْإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَرَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَشَرَائِعِ الدِّينِ
Sahih Muslim 17c
There is another Hadith narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه), the contents of which are similar to the one narrated by Shu'ba in which the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said : I forbid you to prepare nabidh in a gourd, hollowed block of wood, a varnished jar or receptacle. Ibn Mu'adh made this addition on the authority of his father that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said to Ashajj, of the tribe of Abdul-Qais : You possess two qualities which are liked by Allah : insight and deliberateness.
ابو جمرہ ؒ ابنِ عباس رضی اللہ عنھما کی یہ مرفوع حدیث بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپؐ نے فرمایا: میں تمھیں اس نبیذ سے منع کرتا ہوں جو دباء (تونبہ لکڑی کے تراشیدہ برتن) سبز مٹکے اور تار کول ملے برتن میں تیار کیا جائے۔ ابنِ معاذ ؒ نے اپنے باپ کی روایت میں یہ اضافہ کیا ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عبد القیس کے اشج سے فرمایا: ”تم میں دو خوبیاں ایسی ہیں جنھیں اللہ تعالیٰ پسند فرماتا ہے:"عقل و سمجھ داری اور ٹھہراؤ و وقار۔“
Abu Jamra (Rahmatullahi Alaih) Ibn Abbas (Radhi Allahu Anhuma) ki yeh marfu hadith bayan karte hain ke Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: main tumhein is nabeez se mana karta hoon jo duba (tonba lakri ke tarashida bartan) sabz matke aur taar-kol mile bartan mein tayyar kiya jaye. Ibn Mu'az (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ne apne baap ki riwayat mein yeh izafa kiya hai ke Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne Abdul Qais ke Ashaj se farmaya: "Tum mein do khoobiyan aisi hain jinhein Allah Ta'ala pasand farmata hai: aql-o-samajh-dari aur thehrao-o-waqar."
وَحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي قَالاَ، جَمِيعًا حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ . وَقَالَ " أَنْهَاكُمْ عَمَّا يُنْبَذُ فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ " . وَزَادَ ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِلأَشَجِّ أَشَجِّ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ " إِنَّ فِيكَ خَصْلَتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللَّهُ الْحِلْمُ وَالأَنَاةُ " .
