Chapter: The virtue of Jihad and going out (to fight) in the cause of Allah

باب فَضْلِ الْجِهَادِ وَالْخُرُوجِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
Sahih Muslim 1876e
Abu Haraira (رضئ للا تعالی عنہ) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى للا عليه و آله وسلم) said, every wound received by a Muslim in the way of Allah will appear on the Day of Judgment in the same condition as it was when it was inflicted and would be bleeding profusely. The color (of its discharge) will be the color of blood, but its smell will be the smell of musk. By the Being in Whose Hand is Muhammad's (صلى للا عليه و له آ وسلم) life, if it were not hard upon the Muslims, I would not lag any expedition undertaken for Jihad, but I do not possess abundant means to provide the Mujahids with riding animals, nor do they (all of them) have abundant means (to provide themselves with all the means of Jihad) to follow me, nor would it please their hearts to stay behind me.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہر وہ زخم جو مسلمان کو اللہ کی راہ میں لگایا جاتا ہے، قیامت کے دن وہ اس حالت میں ہو گا جس حالت میں لگا تھا، اس سے خون پھوٹ رہا ہو گا، رنگ خون کا رنگ ہو گا اور مہک کستوری والی مہک ہو گی۔“ اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جان ہے، اگر مجھے یہ اندیشہ نہ ہوتا کہ مسلمانوں کو دشواری میں مبتلا کروں گا تو میں کسی لیے دستہ سے پیچھے نہ بیٹھتا، جو اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرتا، لیکن میرے پاس اتنی گنجائش نہیں ہے کہ میں انہیں سوار کروں اور ان کے پاس اپنے طور پر وسعت نہیں ہے کہ وہ میرے پیچھے روانہ ہو پڑیں اور ان کے نفوس ان کو گوارا نہیں کرتے کہ وہ میرے پیچھے رہ جائیں۔“
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Razi Allahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Har woh zakhm jo Musalman ko Allah ki raah mein lagaya jata hai, Qayamat ke din woh is halat mein ho ga jis halat mein laga tha, usse khoon phoot raha ho ga, rang khoon ka rang ho ga aur mehak kasturi wali mehak ho gi." Aur Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Us zaat ki qasam jis ke hath mein Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki jaan hai, agar mujhe yeh andesha na hota ke Musalmanon ko dushwari mein mubtala karunga to main kisi liye dasta se peeche na baithta, jo Allah ki raah mein Jihad karta, lekin mere paas itni gunjaish nahi hai ke main unhein sawar karoon aur unke paas apne taur par wus'at nahi hai ke woh mere peeche rawana ho padain aur unke nufoos unko gawara nahi karte ke woh mere peeche reh jayen."
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " كُلُّ كَلْمٍ يُكْلَمُهُ الْمُسْلِمُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ تَكُونُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَهَيْئَتِهَا إِذَا طُعِنَتْ تَفَجَّرُ دَمًا اللَّوْنُ لَوْنُ دَمٍ وَالْعَرْفُ عَرْفُ الْمِسْكِ " . وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي يَدِهِ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ لاَ أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلاَ يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلاَ تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي " .
