Sahih Muslim 1929a
Adi bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported, I said, Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), I set off trained dogs and they catch for me (the game) and I recite the name of Allah over it, whereupon he said, when you set off your trained dogs, if you recited the name of Allah (while setting them off), then eat (the game). I said, even if they (the trained dogs) kill that (the game)? He said, even if these kill, but (on the condition) that no other dog, which you did not set off (along with your dogs), participates (in catching the game). I said to him, I throw Mi'rad, a heavy featherless blunt arrow, for hunting and killing (the game). Thereupon he said, when you throw Mi'rad, and it pierces, then eat, but if it falls flatly (and beats the game to death), then do not eat that.
حضرت عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، میں نے کہا، اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! میں سدھائے ہوئے کتے چھوڑتا ہوں اور وہ میرے لیے شکار روک لیتے ہیں اور میں اس پر اللہ کا نام بھی لیتا ہوں، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تو اپنا سدھایا ہوا کتا اس پر اللہ کا نام لے کر (بسم اللہ پڑھ کر) چھوڑے تو اسے کھا لے۔“ میں نے سوال کیا، اگرچہ وہ قتل کر ڈالیں۔“ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اگرچہ وہ قتل کر ڈالیں، جب تک ان کے ساتھ کوئی اور کتا شریک نہ ہو۔“ میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا، میں شکار پر معراض پھینکتا ہوں اور اس سے شکار کر لیتا ہوں، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تو معراض کے ساتھ شکار کرے اور وہ اسے پھاڑ دے، (اس کے اندر گھس جائے) تو اسے کھا لے اور اگر اسے چوڑائی سے لگے تو اسے نہ کھا۔“
Hazrat Adi bin Hatim (Raziallahu Anhu) bayan karte hain, main ne kaha, Aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Main sudhaye hue kutte chhodta hoon aur woh mere liye shikar rok lete hain aur main us par Allah ka naam bhi leta hoon, to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jab tu apna sudhaya hua kutta us par Allah ka naam le kar (Bismillah padh kar) chhore to use kha le." Main ne sawal kiya, agarche woh qatal kar dalen. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Agarche woh qatal kar dalen, jab tak un ke saath koi aur kutta sharik na ho." Main ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se poocha, main shikar par mi'radh phenkta hoon aur us se shikar kar leta hoon, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Jab tu mi'radh ke saath shikar kare aur woh use phaad de, (uske andar ghus jaye) to use kha le aur agar use chaurai se lage to use na kha."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُرْسِلُ الْكِلاَبَ الْمُعَلَّمَةَ فَيُمْسِكْنَ عَلَىَّ وَأَذْكُرُ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ " إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ الْمُعَلَّمَ وَذَكَرْتَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ فَكُلْ " . قُلْتُ وَإِنْ قَتَلْنَ قَالَ " وَإِنْ قَتَلْنَ مَا لَمْ يَشْرَكْهَا كَلْبٌ لَيْسَ مَعَهَا " . قُلْتُ لَهُ فَإِنِّي أَرْمِي بِالْمِعْرَاضِ الصَّيْدَ فَأُصِيبُ فَقَالَ " إِذَا رَمَيْتَ بِالْمِعْرَاضِ فَخَزَقَ فَكُلْهُ وَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ بِعَرْضِهِ فَلاَ تَأْكُلْهُ " .
