Chapter: It is recommended to cover vessels, tie up waterskins, close doors and mention the name of Allah over them, extinguish lamps and fires when going to sleep, and keep children and animals in after maghrib

باب الأَمْرِ بِتَغْطِيَةِ الإِنَاءِ وَإِيكَاءِ السِّقَاءِ وَإِغْلاَقِ الأَبْوَابِ وَذِكْرِ اسْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا وَإِطْفَاءِ السِّرَاجِ وَالنَّارِ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ وَكَفِّ الصِّبْيَانِ وَالْمَوَاشِي بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ

Sahih Muslim 2012b

This Hadith is reported on the authority of Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) but with a slight change of wording, and he did not mention the words, ‘putting a stick across the vessel.’

امام صاحب یہی روایت امام مالک کے واسطہ سے بیان کرتے ہیں، اس میں ہے، وَأَكْفِئُوا الْإِنَاءَ أَوْ خَمِّرُوا الْإِنَاءَ

Imam sahib yahi riwayat Imam Malik ke wasita se bayan karte hain, is mein hai, 'wa akfi'u al-ina' aw khammiru al-ina' (bartan ko dhaanp do ya palat do).

وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ وَاكْفِئُوا الإِنَاءَ أَوْ خَمِّرُوا الإِنَاءَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ تَعْرِيضَ الْعُودِ عَلَى الإِنَاءِ ‏.‏
