Chapter: It is recommended to cover vessels, tie up waterskins, close doors and mention the name of Allah over them, extinguish lamps and fires when going to sleep, and keep children and animals in after maghrib

باب الأَمْرِ بِتَغْطِيَةِ الإِنَاءِ وَإِيكَاءِ السِّقَاءِ وَإِغْلاَقِ الأَبْوَابِ وَذِكْرِ اسْمِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا وَإِطْفَاءِ السِّرَاجِ وَالنَّارِ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ وَكَفِّ الصِّبْيَانِ وَالْمَوَاشِي بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ
Sahih Muslim 2012c
Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as saying, shut the doors; the rest of the Hadith is the same but with a slight variation of wording, ‘cover the utensils, and further said, it (the mouse) may set fire to the clothes of the residents of the house.
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالی عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”دروازہ بند کرو۔“ لیث کی پہلی حدیث کی طرح روایت بیان کی، صرف اتنا فرق ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”خمّروا الآنية“
Hazrat Jabir (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) bayan karte hain, Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: “Darwaza band karo.” Laith ki pehli hadees ki tarah riwayat bayan ki, sirf itna farq hai ke aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: “Khammiru al-aniyah” (bartan dhaanp do).
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَغْلِقُوا الْبَابَ " . فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ اللَّيْثِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ " وَخَمِّرُوا الآنِيَةَ " . وَقَالَ " تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ ثِيَابَهُمْ " .
