Sahih Muslim 2021
Salama bin Akwa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported on the authority of his father that a person ate in the presence of Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) with his left hand, whereupon he said, eat with your right hand. He said, I cannot do that, whereupon he (the Prophet ﷺ) said, may you not be able to do that. It was vanity that prevented him from doing it, and he could not raise it (the right hand) up to his mouth.
حضرت ایاس بن سلمہ بن اکوع رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما اپنے باپ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس اپنے بائیں ہاتھ سے کھانا شروع کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے کھاؤ۔“ اس نے کہا: یہ میرے بس میں نہیں ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تیرے بس میں نہ رہے۔“ حضرت سلمہ کہتے ہیں: یہ اس نے محض تکبر کی بنا پر کہا تھا، اس لیے بعد میں اس کو اپنے منہ تک نہ اٹھا سکا۔
Hazrat Iyas bin Salama bin Akwa (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) apne baap se bayan karte hain ke ek aadmi ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke paas apne bayen haath se khana shuru kiya toh aap ne farmaya: “Apne dayen haath se khao.” us ne kaha: yeh mere bas mein nahi hai. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: “Tere bas mein na rahe.” Hazrat Salama kehte hain: yeh us ne mahz takabbur ki bina par kaha tha, is liye baad mein us ko apne munh tak na utha saka.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنِي إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَكَلَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِشِمَالِهِ فَقَالَ " كُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ " . قَالَ لاَ أَسْتَطِيعُ قَالَ " لاَ اسْتَطَعْتَ " . مَا مَنَعَهُ إِلاَّ الْكِبْرُ . قَالَ فَمَا رَفَعَهَا إِلَى فِيهِ .
