Chapter: The Repentance Of Ka'b Ibn Malik And His Two Companions

باب حَدِيثِ تَوْبَةِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَصَاحِبَيْهِ

It is reported on the authority of Abdullah bin K'ab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and he was the guide of Ka'b (رضي الله تعالى عنه) as he lost his eyesight and he was the greatest scholar amongst his people and he retained in his mind many Ahadith of the companions of Allah's Apostle ( صلى ہللا عليه و آلهوسلم), said, ‘I heard my father Ka'b bin Malik (رضي الله تعالى عنه), and he was one of those three whose repentance was accepted (by Allah). He transmitted that he never lagged Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) from any expedition that he undertook except two expeditions. The rest of the Hadith is the same, and in the tradition narrated through another chain of transmitters the words are, ‘that Allah's Apostle (صلى ہللا عليه و آله وسلم) set out on an expedition with a large number of persons more than ten thousand and this could not be recorded in the census register.’
عبید اللہ بن کعب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ جو حضرت کعب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے نابینا ہوجانے کے بعد ان کے رہبر تھے اور اپنی قوم میں سے سب سے بڑے عالم تھے اور اپنی قوم میں سب سے زیادہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھیوں کی احادیث کو یاد رکھتے تھے، وہ بیان کرتے ہیں، میں نے اپنے باپ کعب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بن مالک سے جو ان تین میں ایک ہیں جن کی توبہ قبول کی گئی، بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے آپ کسی غزوہ سے جو آپ نے کیا کبھی پیچھے نہیں رہے۔سوائے دو غزؤں (بدر، تبوک) کے اور آگے مذکورہ بالا حدیث بیان کی، اس میں یہ بھی ہے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بہت سے لوگوں کی معیت میں جو اس دس ہزار سے زائد تھے،جہاد کیا اور کسی محفوظ رکھنے والے دفتر یا رجسٹرمیں ان کا نام درج نہ تھا۔
Ubaidullah Bin Kaab (Razi Allahu Anhu) jo Hadhrat Kaab (Razi Allahu Anhu) ke nabina ho jane ke baad un ke rahbar the aur apni qaum mein se sab se bade alim the aur apni qaum mein sab se ziyada Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke sathiyon ki Ahadeeth ko yaad rakhte the, woh bayan karte hain, main ne apne baap Kaab (Razi Allahu Anhu) Bin Malik se jo un teen mein ek hain jin ki tauba qubool ki gayi, bayan karte hue suna ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se aap kisi Ghazwa se jo aap ne kiya kabhi peechhe nahi rahe. Siwaye do Ghazwon (Badr, Tabuk) ke aur aage mazkoora bala Hadith bayan ki, is mein yeh bhi hai, Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne bahut se logon ki maiyyat mein jo is das hazar se za'id the, jihad kiya aur kisi mehfooz rakhne wale daftar ya register mein un ka naam darj na tha.
وَحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ - عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَكَانَ قَائِدَ كَعْبٍ حِينَ أُصِيبَ بَصَرُهُ وَكَانَ أَعْلَمَ قَوْمِهِ وَأَوْعَاهُمْ لأَحَادِيثِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ وَهُوَ أَحَدُ الثَّلاَثَةِ الَّذِينَ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا قَطُّ غَيْرَ غَزْوَتَيْنِ . وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ وَقَالَ فِيهِ وَغَزَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِنَاسٍ كَثِيرٍ يَزِيدُونَ عَلَى عَشْرَةِ آلاَفٍ وَلاَ يَجْمَعُهُمْ دِيوَانُ حَافِظٍ .
