Sahih Muslim 27b
It is narrated either on the authority of Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) or that of Abu Sa'id Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه). The narrator A'mash has narrated this hadith with a little bit of doubt (about the name of the very first narrator who was in direct contact with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). He was either Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) or Abu Sa'id Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه). Both are equally reliable transmitters of the traditions). He (the narrator) said : During the time of Tabuk expedition, the (provisions) ran short and the men (of the army) suffered starvation; they said : Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), would you permit us to slay our camels? We would eat them and use their fat. The Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said: Do as you please. He (the narrator) said : Then Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) came there and said : Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), if you do that (if you give your consent and the men begin to slay their camels), the riding animals would become short. But summon them along with the provisions left with them. Then invoke Allah's (جَلَّ ذُو) blessings on the provisions. It is hoped Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) shall bless them. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied in the affirmative. (the narrator) said : He called for a leather mat to be used as a table cloth and spread it out. Then he called people along with the remaining portions of their provisions. He (the narrator) said : Someone was coming with handful of mote, another was coming with a handful of dates, still another was coming with a portion of bread, till small quantities of these things were collected on the table cloth. He (the narrator said) : Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) invoked blessing (on them) and said : Fill your utensils with these provisions. He (the narrator) said: They filled their vessel to the brim with them, and no one among the army (which comprised of 30,000 persons) was left even with a single empty vessel. He (the narrator) aid : They ate to their fill, and there was still a surplus. Upon this the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) remarked : I bear testimony that there is no god but Allah and I am the Apostle of Allah. The man who meets his Lord without harboring any doubt about these two (truths) would never be kept away from Paradise.
حضرت ابو ہریرہ ؓ سے یا حضرت ابو سعید ؓ سے (اعمشؓ کو شک ہے) روایت ہے کہ غزوۂ تبوک کے سفر میں لوگوں کو بھوک لاحق ہوئی انھوں نے پوچھا: اے اللہ کے رسولؐ! کاش آپ ہمیں اجازت دیں تو ہم پانی لانے والے اونٹوں کو ذبح کر لیں، کھائیں اور چربی کا تیل بنا لیں، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ایسے کرلو۔“ اتنے میں عمر ؓ آگئے اور عرض کیا: اے اللہ کے رسولؐ! اگر آپ نے ایسا کیا توسواریاں کم ہو جائیں گی البتہ آپ ان کو ان کے بچے ہوئے زادِ راہ سمیت بلوائیے، پھر ان کے لیے اللہ سے اس پر برکت کی دعا کیجیے۔ امید ہے اللہ تعالیٰ اس میں برکت ڈال دے گا۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ٹھیک ہے۔“ آپؐ نے چمڑے کا ایک دستر خوان منگوا کر بچھا دیا، پھر لوگوں کا بچا ہوا زادِ راہ منگوایا۔ کوئی شخص مٹھی بھر جوار لا رہا ہے اور کوئی مٹھی بھر کھجور، کوئی روٹی کا ٹکڑا یہاں تک کہ اس سے دستر خوان پر تھوڑی سی تعداد جمع ہو گئی اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے برکت کی دعا فرمائی۔ پھر لوگوں سے کہا: ”اپنے برتنوں میں ڈال لو۔“ تو سب نے اپنےاپنے برتن بھر لیے یہاں تک کہ لشکر کے تمام برتن بھر گئے تو پھر سب نے مل کرکھایا اور سیر ہو گئے اور کھانا پھر بھی بچ گیا۔ اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے لوگوں کو مخاطب کرتے ہوئے فرمایا: ”میں گواہی دیتا ہوں اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا کوئی عبادت کا مستحق نہیں اور میں اللہ کارسول ہوں۔ جو شخص ان دونوں (توحیدو رسالت) پر یقین رکھتے ہوئے اللہ سے ملے گا وہ جنّت سے محروم نہ ہو گا۔“
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radhi Allahu Anhu) se ya Hazrat Abu Saeed (Radhi Allahu Anhu) se (Amash (Rahmatullahi Alaih) ko shakk hai) riwayat hai ke ghazwa-e-Tabuk ke safar mein logon ko bhook lahaq hui unhon ne pucha: Ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)! kash Aap humein ijazat dein to hum pani lane wale oonton ko zibah kar lein, khayein aur charbi ka tail bana lein, to Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Aise karlo." Itne mein Umar (Radhi Allahu Anhu) aa gaye aur arz kiya: Ae Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)! agar Aap ne aisa kiya to sawariyan kam ho jayein gi albatta Aap un ko un ke bache hue zad-e-rah samait bulwaiye, phir un ke liye Allah se is par barkat ki dua kijiye. Umeed hai Allah Ta'ala is mein barkat daal de ga. To Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Theek hai." Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne chamre ka ek dastar-khwan mangwa kar bicha diya, phir logon ka bacha hua zad-e-rah mangwaya. Koi shakhs muthi bhar joar la raha hai aur koi muthi bhar khajoor, koi roti ka tukra yahan tak ke is se dastar-khwan par thori si tadaad jama ho gayi is par Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne barkat ki dua farmayi. Phir logon se kaha: "Apne bartanon mein daal lo." To sab ne apne apne bartan bhar liye yahan tak ke lashkar ke tamam bartan bhar gaye to phir sab ne mil kar khaya aur sair ho gaye aur khana phir bhi bach gaya. Is par Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne logon ko mukhatab karte hue farmaya: "Main gawahi deta hoon Allah Ta'ala ke siwa koi ibadat ka mustahiq nahi aur main Allah ka Rasool hoon. Jo shakhs in dono (tauheed-o-risalat) par yaqeen rakhte hue Allah se mile ga woh jannat se mahroom na ho ga."
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ، - قَالَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، - عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، - شَكَّ الأَعْمَشُ - قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ غَزْوَةُ تَبُوكَ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ مَجَاعَةٌ . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَذِنْتَ لَنَا فَنَحَرْنَا نَوَاضِحَنَا فَأَكَلْنَا وَادَّهَنَّا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " افْعَلُوا " . قَالَ فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ قَلَّ الظَّهْرُ وَلَكِنِ ادْعُهُمْ بِفَضْلِ أَزْوَادِهِمْ ثُمَّ ادْعُ اللَّهَ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ فِي ذَلِكَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " نَعَمْ " . قَالَ فَدَعَا بِنِطَعٍ فَبَسَطَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِفَضْلِ أَزْوَادِهِمْ - قَالَ - فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِكَفِّ ذُرَةٍ - قَالَ - وَيَجِيءُ الآخَرُ بَكَفِّ تَمْرٍ - قَالَ - وَيَجِيءُ الآخَرُ بِكِسْرَةٍ حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَ عَلَى النِّطَعِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَىْءٌ يَسِيرٌ - قَالَ - فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَيْهِ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " خُذُوا فِي أَوْعِيَتِكُمْ " . قَالَ فَأَخَذُوا فِي أَوْعِيَتِهِمْ حَتَّى مَا تَرَكُوا فِي الْعَسْكَرِ وِعَاءً إِلاَّ مَلأُوهُ - قَالَ - فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَفَضِلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لاَ يَلْقَى اللَّهَ بِهِمَا عَبْدٌ غَيْرَ شَاكٍّ فَيُحْجَبَ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
