Sahih Muslim 35b
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said : Faith has over seventy or sixty branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the humblest of which is the, removal of what is injurious from the path. And modesty ( ُالْحَيَاء) is the branch of faith.
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ایمان کے ستّر سے اوپر یا ساٹھ سے زائد شعبے ہیں، سب سے اعلیٰ اور افضل شاخ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ کا اقرار اور اس کا نچلا درجہ کسی اذیت اور تکلیف دینے والی چیز کا راستہ سے ہٹانا ہے اور حیاء ایمان کی ایک اہم شاخ ہے۔“
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radhi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Iman ke sattar se upar ya saath se za'id shube hain, sab se aala aur afzal shakh LA ILAHA ILLALLAH ka iqrar aur is ka nichla darja kisi aziyat aur takleef dene wali cheez ka rasta se hatana hai aur haya iman ki ek aham shakh hai."
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسَبْعُونَ أَوْ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً فَأَفْضَلُهَا قَوْلُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَدْنَاهَا إِمَاطَةُ الأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ وَالْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ " .
