Sahih Muslim 484d
Ummul Momineen A'isha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) recited often these words - َِّ َ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهَّ ِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ َّللاسُبْحَانَ َّللا[Glory and praise be to You, I seek forgiveness from Allah and return to Him.] She said: I asked: Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), I see that you often repeat the saying - َ ََّّ ِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ َّللاسُبْحَانَ َّللا ِوَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْه[ Glory and praise be to You, I seek forgiveness from Allah and return to Him.] whereupon he said: My Lord informed me that I would soon see a sign in my Ummah, so when I see it I often recite (these) words - َّ َ وَأَتُوَّ ِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ َّللاسُبْحَانَ َّللا ِبُ إِلَيْه[Glory and praise be to You, I seek forgiveness from Allah and return to Him.] Indeed I saw the conquest of Makka (when these verses) were revealed - َُّ ِ وَالْفَتْحإِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ َّللا- ََأَيْتَ النَّاسوَ ر ََّ ِ أيَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ َّللا فْوَاجًا- ُْ هَ ب ِكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرفَسَب ِحْ بِحَمْدِ ر ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا [ When Allah’s help comes and the victory, you shall see people throng (and embrace) the religion of Allah in crowds. Then glorify the praises of your Lord and seek His forgiveness (for your Ummah). Certainly it is He Who accepts repentance and grants forgiveness.]
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بکثرت فرماتے: ”اللہ تو اپنی حمد کے ساتھ پاک ہے، میں اللہ سے بخشش کا طالب ہوں اور اس کی طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں۔“ تو میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا: اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم!میں آپ کو دیکھتی ہوں کہ آپ بکثرت دعا کرتے ہیں: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میرے رب نے مجھے خبر دی ہے کہ میں جلد ہی اپنی امت میں ایک نشانی دیکھوں گا۔ اور جب میں اس کو دیکھ لوں تو بکثرت کہوں: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ، تو میں نشانی دیکھ چکا ہوں، (جب اللہ کی نصرت اور فتح آ پہنچے، اور آپ لوگوں کو اللہ کے دین میں جوق در جوق داخل ہوتے دیکھیں یا دیکھ لیں تو اپنے پروردگار کی حمد کے ساتھ، اس کی تسبیح بیان کیجئے اور اس سے بخشش طلب کیجئے، بلاشبہ وہ قبول فرمانے والا ہے۔)
Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) bakasrat farmate: ‘Allah tu apni hamd ke saath paak hai, main Allah se bakhshish ka talib hoon aur us ki taraf ruju karta hoon.’ To main ne Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) se pucha: Aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)! main Aap ko dekhti hoon ke Aap bakasrat dua karte hain: SUBHANALLAHI WA BIHAMDIHI ASTAGHFIRULLAH WA ATUBU ILAYHI, to Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ‘Mere Rabb ne mujhe khabar di hai ke main jald hi meri ummat mein ek nishani dekhoon ga. Aur jab main us ko dekh loon to bakasrat kahoon: SUBHANALLAHI WA BIHAMDIHI ASTAGHFIRULLAH WA ATUBU ILAYHI, to main nishani dekh chuka hoon, (jab Allah ki nusrat aur fat'h aa pahunche, aur aap logon ko Allah ke deen mein jauq dar jauq dakhil hote dekhein ya dekh lein to apne Parwardigar ki hamd ke saath, us ki tasbeeh bayan kijiye aur us se bakhshish talab kijiye, bilashuba wo qubool farmane wala hai).’
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُكْثِرُ مِنْ قَوْلِ " سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ " . قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَاكَ تُكْثِرُ مِنْ قَوْلِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ . فَقَالَ " خَبَّرَنِي رَبِّي أَنِّي سَأَرَى عَلاَمَةً فِي أُمَّتِي فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُهَا أَكْثَرْتُ مِنْ قَوْلِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ . فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهَا { إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ} فَتْحُ مَكَّةَ { وَرَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا * فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرْهُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا} " .
