Chapter: Clarifying the words of the prophet (saws): "Insulting A Muslim is an evil action and fighting him is disbelief (Kufr)"

باب بَيَانِ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ وَقِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ "
Sahih Muslim 64a
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) observed : Abusing a Muslim is an outrage and fighting against him is unbelief. Zubaid said : I asked Abu Wa'il : Did you hear it from Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrating if from the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)? He replied: Yes. But there is mention of the talk between Zubaid and Abu Wa'il in the Hadith narrated by Shu'ba.

Zubaid said: I asked Abu Wa'il: Did you hear it from Abdullah narrating if from the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: Yes. But there is mention of the talk between Zubaid and Abu Wa'il in the hadith narrated by Shu'ba.
Yeh riwayat Abdullah bin Mas'ood (Radhi Allahu Anhu) ke waste se Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se naql ki gayi hai ke Aap ne farmaya: Musalman ko gali dena fisaq hai aur us se jung karna kufar hai. Zubaid ne kaha: Main ne Abu Wail se pucha: Kya aap ne Abdullah (Radhi Allahu Anhu) se suna jo Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se riwayat kar rahe thay? Unhon ne jawab diya: Haan. Magar Shu'ba ki riwayat mein Zubaid aur Abu Wail ki guftagu ka tazkira hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ، وَعَوْنُ بْنُ سَلاَّمٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ وَقِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ " . قَالَ زُبَيْدٌ فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي وَائِلٍ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ نَعَمْ . وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ قَوْلُ زُبَيْدٍ لأَبِي وَائِلٍ .
