Sahih Muslim 731b
Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to pray while sitting (when he grew old) and he recited in this position and when the recitation equal to thirty or forty verses was left, he would then stand up and recite (for this duration) in a standing position and then bowed himself and then prostrated himself and did the same in the second rak'a.
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا بیان کرتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے اور بیٹھے بیٹھے قرأت کرتے، جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی قرأت تیس یا چالیس آیات باقی رہ جاتیں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو کر قرأت فرماتے، پھر رکوع کرتے پھر سجدہ کرتے، پھر دوسری رکعت میں بھی اسی طرح کرتے۔
Hazrat Aisha (Radiyallahu Anha) bayan karti hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) baith kar namaz parhte aur baithe baithe qiraat karte, jab Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ki qiraat tees ya chalis aayat baqi reh jatein toh Aap (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) kharay ho kar qiraat farmate, phir rukoo karte phir sajda karte, phir doosri rakat mein bhi isi tarah karte.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، وَأَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُصَلِّي جَالِسًا فَيَقْرَأُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَإِذَا بَقِيَ مِنْ قِرَاءَتِهِ قَدْرُ مَا يَكُونُ ثَلاَثِينَ أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ آيَةً قَامَ فَقَرَأَ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ ثُمَّ يَفْعَلُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
