Chapter: The virtue of listening to the Qur’an, asking one who has memorized it to recite so that one may listen, weeping when reciting, and pondering the meanings

باب فَضْلِ اسْتِمَاعِ الْقُرْآنِ وَطَلَبِ الْقِرَاءَةِ مِنْ حَافِظِهِ لِلاِسْتِمَاعِ وَالْبُكَاءِ عِنْدَ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَالتَّدَبُّرِ
Sahih Muslim 801b
This Hadith has been narrated by A'mash with the same chain of transmitters but with an exception that it is not mentioned in it, ‘he (the Prophet ﷺ) said to me, you recited (the Qur'an) well.’
امام صاحب نے یہی حدیث دوسرے اساتذہ سے بیان کی ہے، لیکن ابو معاویہ کی روایت میں، (فَقَالَ لِيْ) (اَحْسَنْتَ) کے الفاظ نہیں ہیں کہ (آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے فرمایا: ”تو نے بہت ا چھا پڑھا۔)
Imam sahab ne yehi hadith dusre asatiza se bayan ki hai, lekin Abu Muawiyah ki riwayat mein, (Faqala li) (Ahsanta) ke alfaaz nahi hain ke (Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mujhe farmaya: "Tu ne bahut acha parha.")
وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ . وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ لِي " أَحْسَنْتَ " .
