Chapter: Jumu`ah prayer is when the sun has passed its zenith

باب صَلاَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ
Sahih Muslim 858a
Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that they used to observe (Jumu'a) prayer with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and then we returned and gave rest to our camels used for carrying water. Hassan (one of the narrators) said, ‘I asked Ja'far what time that was’. He said, ‘it is the time when the sun passes the meridian’.
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی روایت ہے کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز پڑھتے تھے پھر واپس آ کر اپنے پانی لادنے کے اونٹوں کو آرام پہنچاتے تھے، حسن کہتے ہیں میں نے جعفر سے پوچھا، یہ کس وقت کی بات ہے؟ اس نے کہا، سورج کے ڈھلنے کے وقت کی۔
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ki riwayat hai ke hum Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sath namaz parhtay thay phir wapas aa kar apne pani laadne ke oonton ko aaram pahunchate thay, Hasan kehte hain mein ne Jafar se pucha, ye kis waqt ki baat hai? Us ne kaha, suraj ke dhalne ke waqt ki.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ نَرْجِعُ فَنُرِيحُ نَوَاضِحَنَا . قَالَ حَسَنٌ فَقُلْتُ لِجَعْفَرٍ فِي أَىِّ سَاعَةٍ تِلْكَ قَالَ زَوَالَ الشَّمْسِ .
