Brief mention of the martyrdom of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)
مختصر ذكر استشهاد حضرة عمر رضي الله عنه
Mustadrak Al Hakim 4525
Aatika bint Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl, while reciting an elegy for Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O eye! Weep with sorrow and hardship and do not delay in mourning for the chosen Imam. The death of this knight, who used to guide others in the fields of battles and wars, has put me in distress. He is the protector of religion and the helper of time and a supporter of the grieved and troubled. Tell the sufferers and those struck by grief to die, as death has made us drink the goblet of sorrow. And Aatika also said: Fayruz (Lion) has saddened me. He is compassionate towards the poor and strict with the wealthy, a confidant and one who answers the call of those in distress. When he makes a promise, his actions don't contradict his words, he is one who hastens towards good deeds without frowning."
" حضرت عاتکہ بنت زید بن عمرو بن نفیل نے حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کا مرثیہ پڑھتے ہوئے کہا ہے : اے آنکھ ! عبرت اور سختی کے ساتھ رو اور برگزیدہ امام پر رونے میں دیر نہ کر ۔ مجھے اس شہسوار کی موت نے پریشانی میں مبتلا کر دیا ہے جو لڑائی اور جنگ کے موقعہ پر دوسروں کو تعلیم دیتا ہے ۔ وہ دین کی عصمت ہے اور زمانے کا مددگار ہے اور غمزدوں اور پریشان حالوں کا مددگار ہے ۔ مصیبت زدوں اور غم کے ماروں سے کہہ دو کہ مر جاؤ ، کیونکہ موت نے ہمیں پریشانی کے جام پلائے ہیں ۔ اور عاتکہ نے یہ بھی کہا ہے : مجھے فیروز نے پریشان کر دیا ہے ۔ یہ غریب پر مہربان ہے اور مالداروں پر سخت ہے ، ثقہ بھائی ہے اور مصیبت زدوں کی فریاد کو پہنچنے والا ہے ۔ یہ جب کوئی بات کہہ دیتا ہے تو اس کا عمل اس کے قول کی تکذیب نہیں کرتا ، یہ ماتھے پر شکن ڈالے بغیر نیکیوں کی طرف جلدی کرنے والا ہے ۔"
Hazrat Aatika bint Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail ne Hazrat Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ka marsiya parhte huye kaha hai: Aye aankh! Ibrat aur sakhti ke sath ro aur barguzida imam par rone mein dair na kar. Mujhe is shahsuwar ki maut ne pareshani mein mubtala kar diya hai jo larai aur jang ke mauqa par dusron ko taleem deta hai. Woh deen ki ismat hai aur zamane ka madadgar hai aur ghamzadon aur pareshan halon ka madadgar hai. Musibat zadon aur gham ke maron se keh do ke mar jao, kyunki maut ne hamein pareshani ke jaam pilaye hain. Aur Aatika ne ye bhi kaha hai: Mujhe firoz ne pareshan kar diya hai. Ye ghareeb par meherban hai aur maldaron par sakht hai, saqqa bhai hai aur musibat zadon ki fariyaad ko pohanchne wala hai. Ye jab koi baat keh deta hai to is ka amal is ke qaul ki takzeeb nahin karta, ye mathe par shikan dale baghair nekiyon ki taraf jaldi karne wala hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ، ثنا أَشْهَلُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، ثنا ابْنُ عَوْفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ: رَثَتْ عَاتِكَةُ بِنْتُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَتْ: (شِعْرٌ) "" [البحر الخفيف] عَيْنُ جُودِي بِعَبْرَةٍ وَنَحِيبٍ ... لَا تَمَلِّي عَلَى الْإِمَامِ الصَّلِيبِ فَجَعَتْنِي الْمَنُونُ بِالْفَارِسِ الْمُعْـ ... ـلَمِ يَوْمَ الْهَيَاجِ وَالتَّأْنِيبِ عِصْمَةِ الدِّينِ وَالِمُعِينِ عَلَى ... الدَّهْرِ وغيثِ الْمَلْهُوفِ وَالْمَكْرُوبِ قُلْ لِأَهْلِ الضَّرْاءِ وَالْبُؤْسِ مُوتُوا ... إِذْ سَقَتْنَا الْمَنُونُ كَأْسَ شُعُوبٍ وَقَالَتْ عَاتِكَةُ أَيْضًا: [البحر الطويل] فَجَّعَنِي فَيْرُوزٌ لَا دَرَّ دُرُّهُ ... بِأَبْيَضَ ثَالٍ لِكِتَابٍ مُنِيبِ رَءُوفٍ عَلَى الْأَدْنَى غَلِيظٍ عَلَى الْعِدَى ... أَخِي ثِقَةٍ فِي النَّائِبَاتِ مُجِيبِ مَتَى مَا يَقُلْ لَا يَكْذِبُ الْقَوْلَ فِعْلُهُ ... سَرِيعٌ إِلَى الْخَيْرَاتِ غَيْرُ قَطُوبِ « حَدِيثُ الثَّوْرِيِّ مُخَرَّجٌ فِي الصَّحِيحَيْنِ لَكِنِّي قَدْ أَوْرَدْتُ هَا هُنَا أَحْرُفًا صَحِيحَةَ الْإِسْنَادِ مُفِيدَةً غَرِيبَةً»
