Mustadrak Al Hakim 4526
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the members of the Shura (consultative council), “May Allah have mercy on them. If they appoint Usaamah as the Caliph, he will always speak the truth, even if a sword is placed on his neck.” Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said, “Since you know so much about him, then why don’t you appoint him as the Caliph?” He replied, “If I appoint him as the Caliph, then there is no harm in it because he (the Prophet) also appointed someone as the Caliph who was better than me, and if I don’t appoint him as the Caliph, then there is no harm in that either because he (the Prophet) also did not appoint someone as the Caliph who was better than me.”
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں : حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اصحاب شوریٰ سے فرمایا : اللہ ان پر رحمت کرے ، اگر یہ ( اصیلع ) کو امیر بنا لیں ، وہ ہمیشہ حق بات کرے گا اگرچہ اس کی گردن پر تلوار کیوں نہ رکھی ہوئی ہو ، ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں : میں نے عرض کی : آپ جب اس کے بارے میں اتنا کچھ جانتے ہیں تو ان کو خلیفہ نامزد کیوں نہیں کر دیتے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : اگر میں خلیفہ نامزد کروں تو ( اس میں کوئی حرج بھی نہیں ہے کیونکہ ) اس نے بھی تو خلیفہ نامزد کر ہی دیا تھا جو مجھ سے بہتر تھا اور اگر میں خلیفہ نامزد نہ کروں ( تب بھی کوئی مضائقہ نہیں ہے کیونکہ ) اس نے بھی تو خلیفہ نامزد نہیں کیا تھا جو مجھ سے بہتر تھا ۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain : Hazrat Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Ashab Shura se farmaya : Allah un per Rehmat kare, agar ye ( Usaila ) ko ameer bana len, wo hamesha haq baat karega agarcheh uski gardan par talwar kyun na rakhi hui ho, Ibn Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain : maine arz ki : aap jab uske bare mein itna kuchh jante hain to unko khalifa namzad kyun nahin kar dete? Aap ne farmaya : agar main khalifa namzad karun to ( is mein koi harj bhi nahin hai kyunki ) usne bhi to khalifa namzad kar hi diya tha jo mujhse behtar tha aur agar main khalifa namzad na karun ( tab bhi koi muzaiqa nahin hai kyunki ) usne bhi to khalifa namzad nahin kiya tha jo mujhse behtar tha .
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْجَلَّابُ، قَالَا: ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَبِيبٍ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، مَوْلَى عُفْرَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ لِأَصْحَابِ الشُّورَى: «لِلَّهِ دَرُّهُمْ لَوْ وَلَّوْهَا الْأُصَيْلِعَ كَيْفَ يَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَى الْحَقِّ، وَإِنْ حُمِلَ عَلَى عُنُقِهِ بِالسَّيْفِ» ، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: تَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ وَلَا تُوَلِّيِهِ؟ قَالَ: «إِنْ أَسْتَخْلِفْ فَقَدِ اسْتَخْلَفَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي، وَإِنْ أَتْرُكْ فَقَدْ تَرَكَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي»
