Mustadrak Al Hakim 724
It is narrated on the authority of Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would be in the mosque at the time of prayer. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw that the people were few, he would wait for a while and then lead the prayer. And when he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw that the congregation was complete (without further waiting), he would lead the prayer.
"حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نماز کے وقت مسجد میں ہوتے تھے ، جب آپ ﷺ دیکھتے کہ لوگ کم ہیں ، تو کچھ دیر انتظار کرتے پھر نماز پڑھتے اور جب دیکھتے کہ جماعت مکمل ہے ( تو مزید انتظار کیے بغیر ) نماز پڑھا دیتے ۔
Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ke Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam Namaz ke waqt Masjid mein hote thy, jab Aap Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam daikhte ke log kam hain, to kuch dair intezar karte phir Namaz parhte aur jab daikhte ke Jamaat mukammal hai (to mazeed intezar kiye baghair) Namaz parhate.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، وَدَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، قَالَا: ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ مَسْعُودٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَكُونُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ حِينَ تُقَامُ الصَّلَاةُ، فَإِذَا رَآهُمْ قَلِيلًا جَلَسَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى، وَإِذَا رَآهُمْ جَمَاعَةً صَلَّى» . «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ، وَمَسْعُودٌ هَذَا أَبُو الْحَكَمِ الزُّرَقِيُّ» [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 724 - على شرطهما
