Awn bin Abu Jahifa reported from his father that I saw Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) turning around while giving the call to prayer (Adhan) and turning his face here and there and putting his fingers in his ears, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was in a red tent made of leather. Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) would put the pickaxe in a big pit in front of him (the Prophet), and he (the Prophet) would face it and pray, and animals would pass in front of him (the Prophet). He (the Prophet) used to wear a red cloak. I feel as if I am still seeing the shine of the calves of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
عون بن ابوجحیفہ اپنے والد کا یہ بیان نقل کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا کہ وہ اذان دیتے ہوئے گھوما کرتے تھے اور اپنا چہرہ ادھر ادھر پھیرتے تھے اور اپنے کانوں میں انگلیاں ڈال لیا کرتے تھے اور رسول اللہ ﷺ چمڑے کے بنے ہوئے سرخ خیمے میں ہوتے تھے ۔ حضرت بلال رضی اللہ عنہ آپ ﷺ کے سامنے بڑے کھالے میں کدال ڈال دیتے حضور ﷺ اس کی طرف رخ کر کے نماز پڑھتے تھے اور آپ ﷺ کے سامنے سے جانور گزر جایا کرتے تھے ، آپ ﷺ پر سرخ رنگ کا جبہ ہوتا تھا ، مجھے یوں محسوس ہوتا ہے گویا کہ آج بھی آپ ﷺ کی پنڈلیوں کی چمک دیکھ رہا ہوں ۔

Hazrat Bilal (RA) aap (SAW) ke samne bade khale mein kidal dal dete Huzoor (SAW) uski taraf rukh kar ke namaz parhte the aur aap (SAW) ke samne se janwar guzar jaya karte the, aap (SAW) par surkh rang ka jubba hota tha, mujhe yun mehsoos hota hai goya ke aaj bhi aap (SAW) ki pindliyon ki chamak dekh raha hun.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَاكِمُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَافِظُ إِمْلَاءً فِي شَهْرِ رَجَبٍ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ وَثَلَاثِ مِائَةٍ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيَدُورُ وَيَتْبَعُ فَاهُ هَا هُنَا، وَهَا هُنَا، وَأُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قُبَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ أَدَمٍ، فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِالْعَنَزَةِ، فَرَكَزَهَا بِالْبَطْحَاءِ، فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ، وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَرِيقِ سَاقَيْهِ
