Mustadrak Al Hakim 976
Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: “I asked the Mother of the Believers, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), ‘Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recite a full Surah in one Rak’ah?’ She said, ‘He used to recite from the longer Surahs.’ Abdullah says: ‘I asked, ‘Did he pray sitting down?’ She replied, ‘Yes, in his old age (you used to pray sitting down).’” **(This Hadith is Sahih (authentic) according to the criteria of both Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, may Allah have mercy on them, but neither of them have narrated it with these words. Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Ayub, from Abdullah bin Shaqiq, from Umm al-Mumineen (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray standing for a long part of the night and also sitting.)**
" حضرت عبداللہ بن شقیق رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں میں نے امام المومنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کہ یا رسول اللہ ایک رکعت میں پوری سورت پڑھتے تھے انہوں نے فرمایا مفصل میں سے پڑھا کرتے تھے عبداللہ کہتے ہیں میں نے پوچھا کیا بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے تھے انہوں نے جواب دیا جی ہاں آخری عمر میں ( آپ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے تھے ) ٭٭ یہ حدیث امام بخاری و امام مسلم رحمۃ اللہ علیہ دونوں کے معیار کے مطابق صحیح ہے لیکن دونوں نے ہی اسے ان لفظوں کے ہمراہ نقل نہیں کیا امام مسلم رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے ایوب کی حدیث عبداللہ بن شقیق کے واسطے سے ام المومنین رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ہے کہ نبی اکرم رات کا لمبا حصہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھا کرتے تھے یوں ہی بیٹھ کر بھی ۔ "

حَدَّثَنِي عَلِي بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ قَطَنٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا كَهْمَسُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ: هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ السُّورَةَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ؟ قَالَتْ: «مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ» ، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: أَكَانَ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا؟ قَالَتْ: «حِينَ حَطَمَهُ السِّنُّ» . «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ، إِنَّمَا أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا قَائِمًا، وَلَيْلًا طَوِيلًا قَاعِدًا» [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] 976 - على شرطهما
