Sunan an-Nasa'i 128
It was narrated that Shuraih bin Hani (رضي الله تعالی عنہ) said : "I asked Ummul Momineen Aishah (رضي الله تعالى عنها) about wiping over the Khuffs and she said : 'Go to Hadhrat Ali (رضي الله تعالی عنہ), for he knows more about that than I do.' So I went to Hadhrat Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and asked him about wiping (over the Khuffs) and he said : 'The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to tell us to wipe (over the Khuffs) for one day and one night for the resident, and three (days and nights) for the traveler.'"

علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مسافر کے لیے تین دن اور تین راتیں، اور مقیم کے لیے ایک دن اور ایک رات کی تحدید فرمائی ہے ۱؎یعنی ( موزوں پر ) مسح کے سلسلے میں۔
Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne musafir ke liye teen din aur teen raaten, aur muqeem ke liye ek din aur ek raat ki tahdeed farmaai hai 1 (Mozoon par) masah ke silsile mein.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمُلاَئِيِّ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ يَعْنِي فِي الْمَسْحِ .
