Sunan an-Nasa'i 1580
Al-Hasan (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہ) narrated that Ibn Abbas (رضئ هللا تعالی عنہ) gave a Khutba in Al-Basrah and said, ‘Pay the Zaka of your fasting’. The people started looking at one another. He said, ‘whoever here is from the people of Al-Madinah, get up and teach your brothers, for they do not know that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) enjoined Sadaqat al-Fitr on the young and the old, the free and the slave, the male and the female; half a sa' of wheat or a sa' of dried dates or barley’.

حسن بصری سے روایت ہے کہ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم نے بصرہ میں خطبہ دیا تو کہا: تم لوگ اپنے روزوں کی زکاۃ ادا کرو، تو ( یہ سن کر ) لوگ ایک دوسرے کی طرف دیکھنے لگے، تو انہوں نے کہا: یہاں مدینہ والے کون کون ہیں، تم اپنے بھائیوں کے پاس جاؤ، اور انہیں سکھاؤ کیونکہ یہ لوگ نہیں جانتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے صدقۃ الفطر آدھا صاع گیہوں یا ایک صاع کھجور یا جو، چھوٹے، بڑے، آزاد، غلام، مرد، عورت سب پر فرض کیا ہے۔
Hasan Basri se riwayat hai ke Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Basra mein khutba diya to kaha: tum log apne rozon ki zakat ada karo, to ( yeh sun kar ) log ek doosre ki taraf dekhne lage, to unhon ne kaha: yahan Madina wale kon kon hain, tum apne bhaiyon ke pas jao, aur unhen sikhao kyun ke yeh log nahin jante hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sadaqatul fitr aadha sa' gehun ya ek sa' khajur ya jau, chhote, bade, azad, ghulam, mard, aurat sab par farz kiya hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ - قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، خَطَبَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَدُّوا زَكَاةَ صَوْمِكُمْ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَا هُنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ قُومُوا إِلَى إِخْوَانِكُمْ فَعَلِّمُوهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَرَضَ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ وَالْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدِ وَالذَّكَرِ وَالأُنْثَى نِصْفَ صَاعٍ مِنْ بُرٍّ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ شَعِيرٍ .
