Chapter: The Meaning of Allah, the Most High's saying "And eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night)"

باب تَأْوِيلِ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى { وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ }

Sunan an-Nasa'i 2169
Adiyy bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he asked the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) about the verse – [Until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night).] The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘it is the blackness of the night and the whiteness of the day.’

عدی بن حاتم رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے آیت کریمہ: «حتى يتبين لكم الخيط الأبيض من الخيط الأسود» کے متعلق سوال کیا، تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ” «خيط الأسود» ( سیاہ دھاری ) رات کی تاریکی ہے، ( اور «خيط الأسود» سفید دھاری ) دن کا اجالا ہے“۔
Adi bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke unhon ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ayat-e-kareema: «hatte yatabain lakum al-khait al-abyad min al-khait al-aswad» ke mutaaliq sawal kiya, to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: ” «khait al-aswad» ( siyah dhari ) raat ki taariki hai, ( aur «khait al-aswad» safed dhari ) din ka ajala hai“.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى { حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ } قَالَ " هُوَ سَوَادُ اللَّيْلِ وَبَيَاضُ النَّهَارِ " .
