Sunan an-Nasa'i 3627
It was narrated from Sufyan Ath-Thawri, from Ibn 'Awn, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, from 'Umar, that he said: I was allocated some land of Khaibar. I came to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'I have acquired some land and I have never acquired any wealth that is dearer to me or more precious than it.' He said: 'If you wish, you can give it in charity.' So he gave it in charity on condition that it would not be bought or given away, for the poor, relatives, slaves, guests and wayfarers. And there is no sin on the administrator if he eats from it or feeds others on a reasonable basis, with no intention of becoming wealthy from it.

سعد بن ابی وقاس رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ میری عیادت ( بیمار پرسی ) کے لیے تشریف لائے اور میں ان دنوں مکے میں تھا، میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میں اپنے پورے مال کی وصیت کر دوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں“ میں نے کہا: آدھے مال کی؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں“، میں نے کہا: ایک تہائی؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں، ایک تہائی دے دو، اور ایک تہائی بھی زیادہ ہے، تمہارا اپنے وارثین کو مالدار چھوڑ کر جانا انہیں تنگدست چھوڑ کر جانے سے بہتر ہے کہ وہ لوگوں کے سامنے ہاتھ پھیلاتے پھریں، اور لوگوں سے جو ان کے ہاتھ میں ہے مانگتے پھریں“۔
Sa`d bin Abi Waqas radi Allahu `anhu kehte hain ke Nabi-e-Akram Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam meri `iyadat (bimar persi) ke liye tashreef laye aur main un dinon Makkah mein tha, maine kaha: Allah ke Rasool! main apne poore maal ki wasiyat kar dun? Aap ne farmaya: ''nahin'' maine kaha: aadhe maal ki? Aap ne farmaya: ''nahin'', maine kaha: ek tihayi? Aap ne farmaya: ''haan, ek tihayi de do, aur ek tihayi bhi zyada hai, tumhara apne warisin ko maldar chhod kar jaana unhen tangdast chhod kar jaane se behtar hai ke woh logon ke samne hath phelate phirein, aur logon se jo un ke hath mein hai mangte phirein''.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لأَحْمَدَ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ جَاءَنِي النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَعُودُنِي وَأَنَا بِمَكَّةَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُوصِي بِمَالِي كُلِّهِ قَالَ " لاَ ". قُلْتُ فَالشَّطْرَ قَالَ " لاَ ". قُلْتُ فَالثُّلُثَ قَالَ " الثُّلُثَ وَالثُّلُثُ كَثِيرٌ إِنَّكَ أَنْ تَدَعَ وَرَثَتَكَ أَغْنِيَاءَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ تَدَعَهُمْ عَالَةً يَتَكَفَّفُونَ النَّاسَ يَتَكَفَّفُونَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ ".
