Sunan an-Nasa'i 3664
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: If the people were to reduce (their bequests) to one-quarter (of their wealth, that would be better), because the Messenger of Allah said: 'One-third, and one-third is much or large.'
Grade: Sahih
سعد بن عبادہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میری ماں مر گئیں ہیں، کیا میں ان کی طرف سے صدقہ کر سکتا ہوں؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں“، میں نے پوچھا: کون سا صدقہ افضل ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ” ( پیاسوں کو ) پانی پلانا“ ۔
Sa'ad bin 'Abadah radiyallahu 'anhu kehte hain ke main ne kaha: Allah ke Rasool! meri maa mar gayin hain, kya main un ki taraf se sadaqah kar sakta hoon? Aap sallaAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam ne farmaya: ”Haan“, main ne poochha: kaun sa sadaqah afzal hai? Aap ne farmaya: ” ( piyaason ko ) pani pilana“
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ أَفَأَتَصَدَّقُ عَنْهَا قَالَ " نَعَمْ ". قُلْتُ فَأَىُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ " سَقْىُ الْمَاءِ ".
