Sunan an-Nasa'i 4143
Qais bin Muslim narrated that he asked Al-Hasan bin Muhammad about the saying of Allah, the Might and Sublime – [And know that anything you obtain in war spoils, for Allah is one fifth of it, and for the Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and for (his) near relatives, and the orphans, the needy, and the (stranded) traveler, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down to Our Servant (Apostle Mohammad ﷺ) on the decisive day (at Badr) when two armies had met; and Allah has power over all things.] (Al-Anfaal – 41).] He said, they differed concerning these two shares after the death of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), the share of the Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the share of his near relatives. Some said that the share of the near relatives was for the relatives of the Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and some said that the share of the near relatives was for the relatives of the Khalifah. Then they agreed that these two shares should be spent on horses and equipment in the cause of Allah, and they were allocated for this purpose during the Khalifah of Abu Bakr and Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنهما).

قیس بن مسلم کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حسن بن محمد سے آیت کریمہ: «واعلموا أنما غنمتم من شىء فأن لله خمسه» کے بارے میں پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا: یہ تو اللہ سے کلام کی ابتداء ہے جیسے کہا جاتا ہے ”دنیا اور آخرت اللہ کے لیے ہے“، انہوں نے کہا: ان دونوں حصوں ”یعنی رسول اور ذی القربی کے حصہ“ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی موت کے بعد لوگوں میں اختلاف ہوا، تو کہنے والوں میں سے کسی نے کہا کہ رسول کا حصہ ان کے بعد خلیفہ کا ہو گا، ایک جماعت نے کہا کہ ذی القربی کا حصہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے رشتہ داروں کا ہو گا، دوسروں نے کہا: ذی القربی کا حصہ خلیفہ کے رشتہ داروں کا ہو گا۔ بالآخر ان کی رائیں اس پر متفق ہو گئیں کہ ان لوگوں نے ان دونوں حصوں کو گھوڑوں اور جہاد کی تیاری کے لیے طے کر دیا، یہ دونوں حصے ابوبکر اور عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کی خلافت کے زمانہ میں اسی کام کے لیے رہے۔
Qais bin Muslim kehte hain ke main ne Hasan bin Muhammad se aayat kareema: «Waa'lamoo annama ghanamtum min shay'in fa'an lillahi khamsa» ke baare mein poocha to unhon ne kaha: yeh to Allah se kalam ki ibtidaa hai jaise ke kaha jata hai ''duniya aur aakhirat Allah ke liye hai'', unhon ne kaha: in dono hisson ''yani Rasool aur Dhi al-Qarbi ke hissa'' mein Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki maut ke baad logoon mein ikhtilaf hua, to kahne walon mein se kisi ne kaha ke Rasool ka hissa un ke baad khaleefa ka hoga, ek jamaat ne kaha ke Dhi al-Qarbi ka hissa Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke rishthedaron ka hoga, doosron ne kaha: Dhi al-Qarbi ka hissa khaleefa ke rishthedaron ka hoga. Balaakhirin un ki raaye is par muttafiq ho gayin ke in logoon ne in dono hisson ko ghodon aur jihad ki taiyaree ke liye taye kar diya, yeh dono hisse Abu Bakr aur Umar Radhi Allahu Anhuma ki khilafat ke zamane mein usi kaam ke liye rahe.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَحْبُوبٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى - قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، - هُوَ الْفَزَارِيُّ - عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَىْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ } قَالَ هَذَا مَفَاتِحُ كَلاَمِ اللَّهِ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةُ لِلَّهِ قَالَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِي هَذَيْنِ السَّهْمَيْنِ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَهْمِ الرَّسُولِ وَسَهْمِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ سَهْمُ الرَّسُولِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِلْخَلِيفَةِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَقَالَ قَائِلٌ سَهْمُ ذِي الْقُرْبَى لِقَرَابَةِ الرَّسُولِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَالَ قَائِلٌ سَهْمُ ذِي الْقُرْبَى لِقَرَابَةِ الْخَلِيفَةِ فَاجْتَمَعَ رَأْيُهُمْ عَلَى أَنْ جَعَلُوا هَذَيْنِ السَّهْمَيْنِ فِي الْخَيْلِ وَالْعُدَّةِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَكَانَا فِي ذَلِكَ خِلاَفَةَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ .
